i just installed it. what else do i have to do? i have xbmc

I'm not sure what instructions you've followed but its not as simple as just installing SVP. You have to install a special version of XBMC and a few other things. Here are the instructions I followed. Just post if you get stuck with any of the steps.

http://forums.audioholics.com/forum...indows-xbmc-smoothvideo-project-dsplayer.html

One of the steps not mentioned is you'll need to have svp running in the taskbar. Just be sure to have it running before you start XBMC for the last time.

I'd cop a different one if I were you. I went with the following when I decided to give up on those cases,

Code:
http://www.amazon.com/Antec-ISK110-VESA-Mini-ITX-Case/dp/B0064LWISQ/

No disc drive or standard size HDD's fit in it and its limited to 90Ws. Perfect for me since all I have is an SSD in it and an i3.

OK here's a question. I ordered the HD Homerun Prime and it should be here in a few days. In order to use my PC as a DVR I have to keep it fully up 24/7 right? Seems like a waste of power and would shorten the life of the PC. For now I'm gonna use my second desktop as the DVR but eventually I plan to build a server dedicated for all my media.

I believe the Homerun Prime supports Wake-On-Lan which may help you not have to leave the PC on 24/7. In reality a modern computer's power consumption is pretty insignificant. I have a server which runs 24/7/365. I had monitored its power consumption over some time with a Kill-A-Watt meter, it has only added about $25-$35 a year to my PSEG bill.

Did you build with server class components or off the shelf desktop ones? I didn't think that desktop components were designed to be ran 24/7.

Off the shelf desktop ones. Desktop components are tested and built to run 24/7. I wouldn't worry.

I couldn't even get windows to recognize 3tb so I used ubuntu instead
Yeah i had to install a 3tb unlocker bios for my motherboard for it to recognize the 3tb drive

Thats why i asked about bigger drives

I see microcenter got some 4 and 5 tb drives on sale so i need to know if i can use one before i cop this 3tb drive
