I can't front on how much I'm addicted to my HTPC
PC running on a I5 3570k and a 660 TI Video card attached to the Panasonic ST60, XBMC setup with 6 TB's of 720p or 1080p content, add in a PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Wii, Snes, N64 emulators with almost full catalogues. Thank god I ain't no couch potato otherwise I'd be on my ass 24/7 but when I am on my ass the content and sick PQ of the TV set is crazy good.

I don't think I could ever go back and get me a media box, fukk dat!

Have you ever used XBMC before? You do know you have to add your own media to it?

There are some plug-ins you can install to stream stuff but it's main functionality is organizing media you already have

I ended up buy him this and installing a custom firmware on it and its better than ever. fast, smooth, and really responsive.

I'm currently at work but it's basically what I said
A basic Windows 7 setup with XBMC with the Pseudo TV add-on, only use local media though, I could care less about icefilms and 1channel, none of the streaming apps, only running 1080 and 720 files. Emulators, from Snes to PS2 and a couple PC games installed. Got a Fractal Design R4 chrome case which looks very very nice with my stup and has 8 slots for HD's.

this good for a box for an HTPC
i am beginning to think my old desktop may be overkill
may want to have something that just hides in the cabinet instead of a full desktop that sits on the floor .

eh this are ok but by the time u had memory + a SSD or HD + a thing to make it wifi capable your look at almost $400 in the hole

hackintosh ur HTPC brehbreh. Things will be much better with better interface

All legally provided

But I heard some private trackers are pretty good to back up your stuff

gonna need a new subwoofer. the one i have has this really annoying sleep mode. any recommendations? live in an apt so nothing too crazy just want something that will be an upgrade over what you get in HTIB's

You can use 1channel or istream or look into couch potato and sickbeard with Usenet
