That's not a bad price.

I got a 3TB for like 89 or 99 when they had the Black Friday sales going on.

yea thats the cheapest good quality ones i have seen, WD had a 2TB green series drives of theres for the same price for a couple of months and them just last week out of no where the price spiked to $120, am hold out though cause from what am reading online the prices are bound to drop by summer

:to: least i hope , am only going to have a 2 bay nas , so i want maximum storage out of drive

You don't need one if you don't intend on playing games. There's certain applications that make use of certain technologies nvidia and amd have but other than that the built in gpu in these CPU's nowadays is more than enough for regular tasks like the ones you mentioned.

The only disc drives that fit are the slim kind, for instance,

Newegg.com - LG Black 8X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 6X BD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA Slim Internal Blu-ray Super-Multi Combo Drive Model CT21N - Blu-Ray Drives

While there isn't proper space for both an SSD and a HDD an SSD can be placed just about anywhere with some velcro or double sided tape. There's actually a couple spots you can place it, just gotta be creative.

If you do this then you can use the one available SSD/HDD drive mount for the HDD.

I might do this soon as I have a Micro ATX board as it is and in the process of re-arranging my apartment

You won't be using that micro atx board with this case. It only accommodates mini-itx. A video card would be a no go with this case since the pre-installed PSU is only 150w nor is there an opening in the rear for one.

PSU (150W) is preinstalled in this case. It's on the bottom left of the pic. No need for a fan since you won't be fitting it anywhere. Why an i5 and why 250GB for the SSD? Am I right to assume you will be doing more than just HTPC functions on it?

The i5 is overkill for this application. I had it myself in my previous HTPC and downgraded to the i3-3225.
