Anyone know anything about appliances, specifically refrigerators? Mine is starting to crap out. I've been looking at these Kenmore elite models. They got good reviews and are like half the price of some of these LGs and Samsungs with the same features. Too good to be true?:patrice:

Prob legit. Kenmore been around for decades breh breh

Just be careful. All those features if they fail make it very expensive to replace. A buddy of mine has to get something fixed on one of those and it was wild expensive whereas your standard fridge you may be able to do yourself.

Kenmore can be a re branded Whirlpool, LG, Maytag or GE. We bought a samsung fridge almost 4 years ago and I would not buy one again. Had a really good Kenmore elite that I found out was a Whirlpool when I had to fix the ice maker. Pissed at myself for buying all samsung appliances. Should have went with Whirlpool or GE when I had the chance.

I have all new everything on appliances, half of them (stove, fridge, over oven microwave & oven) are Kenmore

Dishwasher / washer / dryer are Samsung

I've had to have a tech come out 3 times to look at the the Samsung products

What type of refrigerator are you talking about?

Side By Side, Top Freezer, Bottom Freezer?

Depending on what type, it could be made by Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Whirlpool.

Kenmore is a solid brand and their quality is actually higher than the manufacturer's own products (they have stricter requirements).

Sears looks to be going out of business fairly soon, so nobody knows what will happen with the brand. Probably something similar to when they sold Craftsman Tools to Black & Decker.

But your warranty and servicing should be straight regardless of who owns it.

Regardless of brand, if you get a Bottom Freezer there's a significant chance of icemaker failure. It's tough to make one with a low failure rate because the icemaker is on the fridge part, which is too warm and it causes problems. Nobody's been able to fully solve that problem.

be proactive.

you can buy a termite bond where they treat the area initially and then inspect once a year and treat if necessary. they'll fix the house if it's damaged due to termites. they feel confident about this because the product they use is termidor and that shyt is legit. i'm a DIY type so i bought some termidor from domyownpestcontrol.com and trenched around the foundation (per instructions) of my house and treated it. the treatment is good for 10 years.
