Home owner here. The southern brehs got me TIGHT with all the square footage and acres y'all got. I'm working with 1600 sq ft and my crib was double what most ppl saying in here. :sadbron: @ living in the NE

nikkas in here really talking about $700 closing costs and what not. Mine was 40k+, including down payment. Got me feeling like cacs ripped me off. My town has bullshyt ass sales tax and stuff tho. Congrats to all the brehs who own though. It's a MAJOR hurdle most of us ain't achieving out here.

Oh and breh that said fha is :scust: is right. PMI is for the life of the loan now. Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Save at least 10% down if you can't swing 20%. I have a link that breaks down the home buying process I can post when I get home.

My property has 6 trees and I have mulch, grass, and other shyt I want to finesse so I'll be in here with questions. My upcoming projects are hanging flat screens with no wires showing and I might try to build a pallet wall. Them things :banderas:

Maybe, that's how I found out about them though. Trying to find ways to hide cords without punching holes in the walls. Some people build a tv panel out of the pallet wall.
Even if I do just punch holes for the tv I think I want to make a pallet wall in the man cave or as an accent wall
My wife can paint too so we can get real creative with it. It's basically a poor mans exposed brick :banderas:

Optional but highly recommended, get a hold carpet, use a big circular thing or coffee lid and put holes in it like this . This helps keeps moisture in

Question:

How would i go about getting a home improvement loan if i have little to no equity? I have a few projects i wanna do and looking at my onhand cash i doubt it will even cover 1/5 of what i wanna do.

I want to:
  • Modernize my 2 bathrooms
  • Knockdown a wall and destroy a coat closet between my kitchen and living room. Id use the space from the coat closet to build an island
  • Possibly move my "laundry space"

You're looking at about $35k-$50k on the low end. Unsecured loans are available but you already know you'll just be digging yourself deeper into the hole. You'd be better off DYI'ing what you can, paying cash.
