That specific type of loan is now gone, but
The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency is helping allocate $15 million in loans to 1,000 people in Cabarrus, Cumberland, Guilford, Johnston and Mecklenburg counties.

The $15,000 down payment assistance is available to first-time homebuyers (or those who haven't owned a home in three years) who are buying a house for less than $245,000 in those five specific counties. The buyer needs a credit score of at least 640 and must complete a buyer education course.

Twenty percent of the $15,000 is forgiven each year the buyer lives in the home, so if they stay for five years they don't have to pay it back.
"Many people have a 640 credit score, many people have a job and the money to make the monthly down payment. What they’re lacking is the savings, that down payment. This closes that gap," McCrae-Coley said.

He says the money can be used toward a down payment, closing costs or a combination of both. Millennials can potentially stop renting and make an investment sooner than they might have thought. "It really gives them the capacity not to have to drain all their savings or dip into their retirement for that down payment," Cooke added.

Eight weeks into the program, there are about 700 loans left. It is a limited time offer. There are other down payment assistance programs in other cities and counties, and for all types of home buyers.

The $700 I had to pay was $200 due diligence fee and $500 earnest payment. As long as I stay here for 5 years (which I plan on doing anyway) I'm good :ahh:

:win:

I had to pay $40k at closing.

Still. I honestly dont know where you clones get all these "black people" rules, breh. :stopitslime:
Coli clones question your blackness for every little thing. As if there was a time in 4th grade when they pulled all the little black kids and taught them black rules of what they should like and what they shouldnt for a whole semester.
Wanna revoke my black card? Fine.
But yes im black and i like nice lawns and i go camping outdoors, and i love avocado, and after basketball my second favorite sport is volleyball, and i still dont know how to play spades and have never seen scarface and i dislike bbq sauce and never liked ribs.

I was with you up until the bolded. The most High gonna put you nikkas to death :isupk:

yeah I built it all myself, took me about 5 days to build the box, till the ground, and get all the mulch.

I'm a big city Negro from the hood, so i never thought id have my own garden lol.

Growing food is actually really gratifying, and helped me relieve some stress.

Grew so many tomato's I couldn't eat them all, and had to give a lot of it away.

Yeah, I am

lol @ the spinach thing. Thanks for the advice.

I want to grow shyt that I'm actually going to eat.

I got a Mamey tree and my back yard already. And my neighbors have Starfruit, mango, lemons, banana, avocado, and lechosa (I dunno how to say that in english) so they stay feeding me.

I was thinking about grown all my own herbs and spices and veggies.

Let me ask, why you grew so many different types of lettuce?
