Mines is partially done now. I had to pull up the carpets because they got damaged. Gotta put in new floors and paint the walls and it'll be back to normal. I want to get everything done this year, it's just expensive as fukk

Once everything is done though, the value of my house is gonna go way up.

So last night my tenant had a housewarming and this morning i found cigarette butts and a bottle on my lawn like there isnt a trash can a few feet away:mindblown:

What type of careless ghetto motherfukker you have to be to do something that inconsiderate?

I like my tenant but i had to let her know to nip this shyt in the bud moving forward

The Chi (South Side)
congrats!

soft close is money, def worth it. post some pics after you're done.

THIS is literally the ONLY feature my kitchen is lacking. I mean I got a damn garbage disposal and not that for crying out loud.

i usually say that in most of the RE threads in here, it's hard not but you need to detach your emotions from the bidding process. of course the house is where you plan to raise your family etc, but until you close it's solely a business transaction. plus things usually work themselves out, and you will likely be happier in the house you actually end up in and look back on this one without regret.

this is something I HAD to keep tellin my wife. we have lost out on houses that we really wanted, but I kept telling her, that houses are like women. if you lose out on one, there will certainly be a better one later on.

the house I originally wanted cost like 70K more than the one we got. but it was smaller. only advantage was the neighborhood. however, my immediate neighborhood where we eventually moved to ended up being EXCELLENT, plus the house was cheaper, and it had more BR's and square footage with a deck in the backyard and MUCH closer to public transportation.

Bout 4, 8 channel Amcrest 720p security cameras off Amazon. Getting them hooked up right now :win:

Just recently got some living room furniture and getting my tv soon so got to protect my investments. Don't live too far from the hood :mjpls:

All I need is a strap and I'm set :takedat:

How do you like the quality of the cameras?

How was the installation process as far as wiring the house?

I gotta set my mom up with a system before May

yeah when we did my cabinets in 2014 we added it for the doors and drawers. it's a nice feature especially w the kids going in and out of the cabinets, otherwise they'd probably slamming them shut and driving me nuts.

yeah, we had a similar situation. we lost out on a few houses that we were very into and actively bidding on. but one that felt like the one that got away stung a little bit. we thought we were getting a contract back to sign after we bid and they accepted. the seller disappeared for a few days then came back after the weekend to tell us they "changed their minds about selling." i was upset but my wife was devastated, even knowing how often stuff like this happens. but my house was the next one we saw, ended up w more property, on a better street, we were able to build bigger as per town building code. things always have a way of working out.

I love my house. I was very lucky to land it, had just sold my house and the market here is crazy. Easy to sell, not much to buy especially in the metro area. I wasn't trying move to the boonies. I need to open up my kitchen, finish my basement, got a lot of idea I wanna do. Love owning a home would never go back to anything less.

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
We just moved in August coinciding w start of wife's job. Gotta be somewhat close to Yale for her.

Everything here is a suburb, it's weird not having a metropolis that all the suburbs orbit. Just little/midsized towns sprinkled around.

Definitely need a big house for in laws and guests, and they are on the market in abundance at decent prices, we're being picky tho.

My friend left Charlotte a year ago, it seemed like that city was ready to bubble when I visited back in like 2014 around this time
I dont know if I could do that. I need some kind of city to pop into.

CLT is definitely bubbling up, fast. It's a little scary. We have our little corner carved out though so we are good.
