Can y'all help a breh out? :feedme:
I just moved into my grandmothers old place since she passed away and I'm trying to figure what to tackle first because she didn't want to change a damn thing and most of the house has been the same since the 60s.

Love
Am in the same boat, I have a contractor giving me a quote in a few weeks, currently have some older messed up paving stones in there, going to redo it all gravel

Go buy a sledgehammer and go rent a demo breaker or a hammer. Get about 2-3 Mexicans from the Home Depot and knock it out. The demo is easy. Once you done just call someone to come pick up the chunks and pieces. For the rebuild that depends on what you want breh. If you wanna go really cheap just put a gravel driveway in. I did that shyt and its really easy and in expensive.

I dont care for gravel. Expecially since i live in the city. But i'd love to do something like this

mexican labor?
Yeah but you gotta know what you're doing and just use them for the labor. Unless you find a skilled one who know what he's doing

Brehs, the inside of my door frame to my front door got cracked due to my crazy ass ex tryna kick my door in. I originally booked an appt with a contracting company through Homeadvisor to get it fixed but they just quoted me a price of $500 which seems absurd in my opinion. Need to find somewhere that dosent charge as much. Wish I knew how to post pics so I can get your opinion on how much you think it really cost

Just put in an offer on a place, no pool but there is a decent size creek running behind the house. Property line extends halfway into the creek where there is a little island.

Sterling credit btwn wife and I (me: 800, her: 780), got preapproved for $1M loan. House don't even cost half that but nice to know.

Seller has an existing Hubbard agreement with a potential buyer, but hoping our offer tosses that in the bushes.

Check Zillow to see what other comparable houses in your area recently sold for.

If you are trying to add value to your home, put money and quality materials into kitchen and bathrooms. Those are always deal breakers for me

For those whose homes went up greatly in value, did u have a feeling when buying the home that it would do so?

im trying to buy something in cali, but inglewood still looks a bit unsafe in my opinion:mjpls:

What is your insurance deductible? Also, would you have to file a police report to get it fixed thru insurance?

I would say shop around, get recommendations from other homeowners. Avoid going cheap on your crib, breh.

Where in Inglewood? By the bottoms? Close to where the Football stadium is being built?

Best to buy before the stadium inflates the nearby areas even more

i was having a convo w a fellow finance breh the other night and he was trying to talk me into refinancing my 30 yr fixed into 7 yr IO mortgage. he had a point about me having too much equity tied up my house. w rates so low, the rate differential btwn a 30 yr fixed and 7 yr IO would allow me to pull some equity out, lower my payment and free up some other investment opportunites. of course the other consideration is the interest rate environment but i can't see rates going anywhere in the next few years. the 10 yr trading at 1.74, 1 yr LIBOR at 1.14, he may have a point :patrice:. may have to talk to my mortgage guy at wells.

Na I understand that, I've done very few if any upgrades to my house and I just found it interesting that the zillow price has gone up $10k

North where? In Briarwood?

You trying to get away from black folk, you on wrong side of the 10 Fwy. Check Windsor Hills tho, some gems there.

Don't mind being close Slauson & Crenshaw. I hear the Rolling 60s aren't bad neighbors :youngsabo:
