Booked my appointment with pest control. They also told me they knock down and spray wasp nests. Its on now you lil b*stards.

My house is old, very very very old and the lady before me did little to no cleaning so i had tons of pest. i tried for a year to get them under control but was still struggling. Hiring a pest control company was the best thing i did. Kinda the same advice i gave for the lawn a few post ago, i hired them for a year n half, watched how/where the guy sprayed asked a few questions about the products he was using, then stopped using them and started doing it on my own, no issues so far.

Homes and home equipment these days are made with no integrity whatsoever. If you live on the East coast be very weary of Ryan Homes. They put these townhomes up so quickly but the quality is suspect. Substandard paint, poor electrical wiring, uneven finishes etc. I could go on and on.

It's been a little over 3 years and one of the HVAC units capacitor is giving out just as the manufacturer's warranty expires :francis:

Finally got some outdoor furniture and bought a fire pit table. Just waiting for the grill/smoker to make it complete. Will be back with pics once everything gets in place.

Man outdoor furniture is crazy expensive. My sister was on WayFair and a simple 4 wicker set (2 chairs, sofa and a table) is running at $720 :picard:

I thought no way furniture can be that expensive. Checked some other sites and same scenario.

Any tips on a good furniture store? Gotta be bargain hunting during these times. In the North East by the way.

Bruh tell me about it. I always say Wayfair because they have good deals. If you don't want wicker, you can find a 4-piece Rattan set for around $200.

Believe it or not, Big Lots has some decent stuff too. We got our sofa set from the Pottery Barn Outlet for a decent price.

Finally getting around to doing a bunch of much needed repairs to our house. Lots of the window frames have rotted out and the paint has been steadily peeling off for a number of years now. We have definitely had one of the funkier houses in the neighborhood for a minute at this point lol. Luckily it was framed with redwood, so it's still structurally sound. I'm gonna tackle most of the repairs myself, with the exception of maybe some foundation work. This was a great excuse to go on a tool buying spree haha. What was once seeming like a very daunting task is now looking like a rather fun project to tackle :ehh:

Since I bought my house last dec, Ive had 3 different water heaters, refrigerator services 3x and recently replaced it with a new samsung fridge. All during covid too. I replaced 12 window screens. Thank goodness for home insurance. My basement dryer needs to be replaced next (I have 2 separate washer n dryer on different lvls) and sometime on the future I may need to redo my deck.

Living in a hoa community has its ups and downs. I wanted to put a fence up but have to wait for all these community meetings that happens 2 weeks apart for approval sucks.

Repaired our garage. Luckily the stucco was still in good condition despite the wood being rotted behind it. I built a new frame and slid it in and then hit it with some stucco patch. Tapped a couple holes and then used screws to secure the old stucco wall to the new framing. That's just a temporary board I have up since stucco doesn't actually stick to wood. This week I'll pull the 1x6 off and then back caulk a new piece of finish casing on to it. I just needed the patch to set first.

Hopefully I'll have the house ready in a couple weeks to paint after I do a few more repairs to it here and there.

Has anyone refinanced? Keep getting letters in the mail on how I can bring my mortgage down to slightly under 2k from slightly above 3k where its currently at. Is the rates projected to go lower after the election?

Yup but through the repairs, aint nothing like having your own. Property value sent up and interest rates are lower than when I got it, so I can actually save some money. I'm Right between Woodbridge and Manassas.

Any of y’all have a riding lawn mower?

Was it fairly easy to learn to operate?

Looking at getting one next year. Either that or calling up Pedro and Papi and them to cut it for me. It’s just taking up way too much of my time.
