Finally got some outdoor furniture and bought a fire pit table. Just waiting for the grill/smoker to make it complete. Will be back with pics once everything gets in place.

I’m in my tv room relaxing chilling. Hear a huge POWWWWW come from the adjacent bathroom. I’m thinking my daughter dropped something but then I hear the distinct sound of water hitting the floor. Running water!

I jump up run to the bathroom and see water flying out of the supply line that goes to the toilet.

I reach down trying to hand turn the water valve. shyt is stuck open. Water flying everywhere! I grab the trash can to aim the water in as I try to hand crank the valve. No luck! I’m yelling for my wife but she’s in the shower can’t hear shyt! My daughter comes running sees what’s going on and starts running around the house screaming the toilets leaking everybody help dad the toilet is leaking!!!

My son comes and just stares with his dumb ass, I’m like get me a bucket!!! Wife runs down in a towel yelling at me to shut the water off I’m yelling back I’m trying!!!

My son gets me a bucket after he puts his sneakers on I tell him to aim the line in the bucket while I go get my tools.

Run into the basement and water leaking thru the damn ceiling .

Race back upstairs, bucket almost full, tell my boy to get ready to dump the bucket in the toilet and to switch the line to an empty bucket while I dump it, my dude drops the line to grab the other bucket . Grab the line back up get the bucket and dump the full bucket.

grab the pipe wrench and the shyt too big to get on the valve correctly.

finally get the right wrench on and shut that shyt off. This was about 10minutes of yelling and running around.

shyt looked and felt like one of those submarine movies where they spring a leak and the alarms are going off.

so brehs word of advice. Plastic nuts on supply lines need to be changed every 5-8 years!!! They are notorious for breaking. My supply line nut just randomly cracked.

looked it up and this is a common occurrence.

I’m changing all my lines out tommorow.

I don’t mean to laugh, but that sounded crazy. Especially your son!! Yo useless as hell. Sorry that happened, but grateful for the advice. I’ll have to keep an eye on this.

yeah the main water is in a crawl space in the basement you literally have to crawl into to turn off. That wasn’t happening.

I really need help picking a deck stain for my parents home. It's time to restain the deck -- and I am trying to pick a stain - semi-transparent or solid that would look great.

Any recommendations on what stain colors would bring out Mixed Brown/Peach Pattern Brick Home?

Also, would we be able to stain the porch and have a glossy finish and still be able to withstand weather and traffic or no?

I really like this stain and finish on the ceiling of this Patio/Deck --- and think it would look great for my Parent's house.

OR.....

something similar to the pic below - with no gloss sheen - I would use the same stain on the back of the house as well.

The house is 100% brick in the front and 80% brick / 20% Wood trim on the back of the house: Kinda similar to the picture below.

We usually use Sherwin Williams for staining for rentals - but I don't think it last long. I am going to try either PPG Stains or TWP Stain - anyone with experience with either?

Any help would be appreciated! I already tried to get help on Houzz.

Yep.

First I sanded the hand rails. If you really wanna go in you should sand the entire deck but ain’t nobody had time for all that.

Next I used Olympic deck wash...brushed it in with a deck brush. Washed it off with a regular garden hose/nozzle.

Then I put on Thompson’s Water Seal (Natural cedar, semi-transparent). 2 coats.

It’s...a lot of work. But it looks really good hopefully the stain lasts at least a couple of years cause I’m not trying to be out there every year doing this.

I did the same about 3 years ago. My entire deck looks like shyt now. Going to tear it down and get another one built. I want a pergola on top this time. And they can stain it after they build it.

I've been trying to re-grow veggies from scraps or cuttings/plants people have given me. So far I have sweet potato, turmeric root, romaine lettuce, cucumber, mint, beets and green beans. I have the bulbs of some spring onions sitting in water now, waiting to root. The mint and romaine lettuce are doing the best so far, they have been growing like crazy. I had to repot the cucumber and green beans because they ran out of space. I was supposed to attempt a raised bed garden this year, but I'm getting funky with these pots.

The neighbors are building some kind of fire pit structure with bricks and marble rocks. I’m jealous as fukk! They have 4 grown ass sons to help with all the labor.

I usually share my extra tomatoes and cucumbers from my garden with them, but fukk them.
