my crib was a 3/1 and FPL usedto get about $70 a month when I was alone during the winter

now that it's a 5/3 FPL gets about $130ish during the winter with 4 adults living here
I rarely have bills lower than $90 and i live alone in a 4/2.
I want to turn it into a 5/2.5 but it's gonan be a challenge with the cost of constructions. I'm waiting for the value to double and see. What was the process like to add to it? Hired a n architect?

what's your square footage? mine was originally only about 1200

and regarding the bolded
it took me about a year to actually pull the trigger. depending on what city you're in it'll be different each time. some people say it's better to do it w/o permits and skip all the bullshyt. if you live in an area that's not too picky about code enforcement, you can do that. I'm not saying to cut corners on the construction, do that right all the way through as if it were legal and permitted. I'm just saying fukk the permits and go for it if you can

I have about 1,800 sqft right now but I have a back deck that's about 12X16 ft that i want to enclose and make it part of the house altogether. Finding room for that 1/2 bath will be tough but we'll see.

so your light bill isn't bad, then. the only ways to save money there are putting your ac temperature up a bit and or getting more efficient appliances

I have two pvc pipes coming out of the side of my house and one of them has cold water running out of it. It's not the ac condensation pipe because when I turned the main water valve off, it stopped. What's going on?

Getting solar panels installed tomorrow.
emot-dance.gif

A 5.850kW DC/4.932kW AC system with Q.Peak Duo G5 315-330 panels from Hanwha. I'm working with LarSun Solar (Cali company), and they're subcontracting with Greenstar Power LLC, a local company based out of Round Rock TX.

I'm out of town, and won't be back home till this Wednesday, but work started today, and panel installation will begin tomorrow.

I should also be able to qualify for a City of Austin/Austin Energy solar rebate of up to $2,500. Application needs to be filled out by the contractor. I've been told that solar incentives offered by a city are kind of rare.

Other upgrades I've done since moving in (January 4, 2019): New washer/dryer (LG), water heater (50gal heat pump/electric hybrid from Rheem), and new dishwasher:

You doing the damn thing out here breh :myman:

What's the purpose of that little water tank downstream of the main water heater?

I have one in our house but don't know what it's for.

May replace our water heater next year... It is original to the home (2001)
Edit: typos

I'm sure it's a required feature for a heat pump
