No driver is going to completely back out going into the first corner, he held his line, Lewis should know better. Especially since Lewis is the one making it 3 wide into the corner and Lewis has the option to leave more space and he has better tires.

Let's not pretend like George doesn't make every Lewis overtake more difficult than it needs to be though.

Yes he had somewhere to go. He could have backed out. He had already cut across Lewis to try to get a slipstream. It had failed he didn't have the momentum. He had better tyres. Back off and get back later. If Lewis pushed Max into early Tyre use, George benefits from that.

Also frankly, Lewis had a chance to gain points on Perez all that's lost now.
