Exactly, George had nowhere to go.

No driver is going to completely back out going into the first corner, he held his line, Lewis should know better. Especially since Lewis is the one making it 3 wide into the corner and Lewis has the option to leave more space and he has better tires.
You know, Lewis been talking about the Mercedes driving position being wrong since last year. I wonder if its messing with his perception.

Yall rememeber, he had a similar incident with Piastri at Monza. Just clipped him with the rear tire.

I have to put this on Merc strategy and GR. How was there no discussion about Ham on softs on the gripper side of the track? Common sense would tell GR Lewis would be there. Then he says he wasn't looking "behind" him, yet he push Lewis wide to prevent a pass while they were still on the straight

Lol. The pass was done, Piastri should have backed out. He almost ran into his teammate later in the same race. These younger drivers are very poor at seeing the big picture in a race and risk assessment. Piastri was never going to repass Lewis, so why try to hang onto him on the outside against a car with a significant pace advantage?

Exactly these cats be matadors when max is near, but will fight lewis tooth and nail even when they're at a disadvantage. I don't like pulling the card but it's so obvious here

I donā€™t agree. I think the penalty he earned from that incident was warranted as well.

You all are expecting drivers to back out of 50/50 placements and thatā€™s not going to happen.

That wasn't 50/50 in Monza friend. The move was done. The point of contact cements that point. Lewis' rear right tire made contact with Oscar's left front.

It was very 50/50 to me, friend. Like I said, the penalty was warranted. He didn't place the car correctly.

Is there any point in taking the inside in turn 1 ? :heh:

Looks like half the overtakes today took the outside at that turn.
