What we thinking about the weekend?

Merc to take the engine penalty and get it out of the way for the rest of the season?

Predicting rain this weekend and there's no better driver on the grid in the rain than Lewis so could easily take the hit and still have a chance of being on the podium

If there is rain this weekend it throws everything into chaos. That track has zero grip, so if it rains anyone can win. Dunno if Merc want to take an engine in a situation where your car could end up in the wall.

The other things is that the Merc looked pretty good on the track list year when it was drying so....

I wouldn't want to have to make the choice

Yep. Track is slippery. Will be worse tomorrow if it rains.

Red bull doesn't seem to enjoy this track.

Front tyres are being eaten.

Lewis might actually be up there by the end of this one if he can put his tyre management skills to good use. Just needs to avoid any craziness at the start.

yep, starting 11th at best he's gonna be in the mix with the midfielders and anything can happen in that scenario, cars were spinning off the start last year like crazy, think even bottas did from memory. On the subject of valteri, would be good if he could finally show up and get pole as a bit of a security blanket

Based on pace Leclerc might be a bit of a challenge for Red bull as well, so definitely all to play for

With the start on Sunday he just needs to maintain position and he'll be fine. If it's another start where he slips back then there's where the problems will creep in.

Agreed but have you noticed how tentative he's been with starts this season, especially when he's not on pole...

When you're chasing a championship you need to be a bit more cautious vs. the cars around you that relatively speaking have nothing to lose....

Just watched FP1. They're still having Lewis do cruise modes down straights to get data on aero loads, so there's still some sort of development going on.

On another subject he's been consistently off his marks when coming into the pits, between 5 and 18 long - I think that's in cm.

I think they brough a new front wing. It was trialed in Sochi but they didn't use it.
