Gilberto Silva was an absolute sleeper of a player.
Nowadays with every match performance being tweeted about with Xtouches Xinterceptions etc. Gilberto Silva would absolutely be one of the best holding/defensive mids in the Premier League easily and Top 5/10 globally.
He broke up attacks. Never gave the ball away. Never was out of position. Played safe passes (boring) but probably had high pass %age.
His lack of personality (and our lack of trophies) cost him acclaim.
