Y'all need to stop using money as an argument. Only spurs fans can use that as an argument
United will splash the cash if they have confidence in the manager
Liverpool is splashing cash
Chelsea is also spending

Exactly. These dudes had 140m worth of midfielders on the bench. World record keeper and defender.

For years they hid under the excuse that other teams bought success. Now these guys tried to buy it and see that there are no guarantees in football. Mane can try to buy a hairline but couldn't pay that ball to cross the line.

You know Der Spiegel has a bunch of reports on City's money trickery right?

How does it work in practice? Apparently, companies like Etihad in Abu Dhabi wait for the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), the holding company that belongs to Sheikh Mansour and which also owns Manchester City, to wire them money. That money is then "routed through the partners and they then forward onto us," wrote Finance Director Andrew Widdowson in an email. That, at least, is how things were done in 2015: At the time, the deal with Etihad was bringing in 67.5 million pounds annually. But Chief Financial Officer Chumillas emphasized in an email to Pearce: "Please note that out of those 67.5m pounds, 8m pounds should be funded directly by Etihad and 59.5 by ADUG."

Milner and Henderson are lunch pale guys:mjpls:

All season they talking about Milner is better than he's ever been.

Media can talk all they want and boost up these Liverpool players, vote them for every individual award and every team of the season, but the game is played on the pitch and that's where the real greats are made. Not no Steven never won the league Gerrard,.not no Mohammed doesn't score against big teams Salah, definitely not no Jordan Henderson.

It's Mr. 93:20 Sergio Aguero showing you what actual greats do.

Lol welcome to last month, and I posted about it before. You probably don't know that der spigel has had to retract a bunch of stories because their writers have been found to be making up shyt... And you probably don't care that FFP itself is a farce, and that when City was passing it UEFA changed the criteria so City wouls fail it.

FFP only comes up when City win. When Crystal Palace and Leicester whooped us nobody even mentioned FFP, so it's quite obvious as to why you bring up FFP. So I'm obviously at this point going to tell you to fukk off.

No need for that lad. Besides why would the Palace and Leicester losses bring up FFP mentions? The focus (and onus) was on the then-undefeated Liverpool, with maybe jokes about 200m in Jan for City.

Sure, the Spiegel writers retracted stuff, but no smoke without fire, and was that specific point dispelled? That City's backer outweighed their earnings, because that's people get on about, not the spending itself.

No but it truly is a non story. I can ever summarise it for you.

2 years before any FFP sanctions Uefa sent people over to review City's books to see if they were complying with FFP. They said City were OK. But I think within 8 months before any sactions were to be given UEFA changed the criteria and found City to have failed FFP.

City threatened legal action, UEFA knew FFP wouldn't stand in court, sent Infantino to negotiate, they agreed on a fine and squad reduction for the next season's champions league. City paid the fine and have been FFP compliant.

Any data in that der spigel article was known by uefa before any punishment was given. Der spigel will never investigate the shyt Bayern Munich does on their own home soil, but they are so hurt by little ole Manchester City who got De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola that they had to write a 4 part "exposé" that lost steam after part 2. It's not City's fault that the combined age of the two wingers Bayern plays the most is 69 years.

This thread sort of quiet. Imagine the tradegy if City lost.

@Roberto Firmino @phillycavsfan @Trajan @blues_funk_reggae would be as insufferable as ever.

Special thanks to Fernandinho, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane, Vincent Kompany, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Ederson and Pep Guardiola for saving football.
You guys are still 4 points behind :dwillhuh:

Yup.

But how confident do you feel, really? Van Dijk and Robertson are great, but the attack is overly reliant on getting balls in behind. You think the losses to Napoli, Red Star, PSG in Europe were a fluke? City haven't been great this season, but we're only 4 points behind and De Bruyne has barely kicked a ball.
