Is it straight fantasy like LOTR or Sword of Shannara or is it political intrigue/throne melodrama like GOT?

But i know it's much less character driven than GoT. The world is the character, individuals are expendable(even more so than GoT). I think it's a bit more traditionally fantasy-like in terms of there being more of an archetypal set of different races/species.

It doesn't ease you in like GoT, it just chucks you straight in, some people find it overwhelming.

It's the most ambitious fantasy series ever written, despite GoT being seen as that. It is 10 books tbf

Yeah just scanned the wiki page and tried to avoid any spoilers, looks fukking enormous (10 books, some of then over 1k long), and it looks like some other breh wrote five books that are also considered canon. Just finished DL'ing the first PDF. Will start it tonight when I come home faded more than likely?
