These Nations Leagues will never be as important as an actual cup competition, which is why they have to tie them to qualifying. The Gold Cup funds Concacaf's whole budget. It isn't getting downsized. Ever.
Copa America and Gold Cup should merge and have a Copa Superamerica. Have qualifiers just like the Euros. That would be better development for the weaker nations in CONCACAF.
