goons in the cut tryna talk you out yo necklace
"iMajor, post: 5474177, member: 647"]The reason why it's so hard to talk boxing with people is because most people who watch boxing are casual fans who watch a specific boxer and in their mind that specific boxer way of fighting builds the notion that's how boxing is supposed to be. I wanna say 85%-90% of the viewers who watched the fight had NO CLUE about any of the fighters on the undercard. Most of the viewers don't understand boxing iq/technique and what hurts me the most is when they say Floyd ran around I said well why didn't alavrez train for that if he knew this would happen to him. And their response mayweather is afraid to get hit :snoop:[/quote]
Excatly Canelo had a punchers chance and that was IT. This is boxing, not who can get hit the most...Floyd stayed in pocket when needed and moved when needed. Unhappy Mexicans in Aria that night...

And thing about it, Floyd was the aggressor, fukk they talking about he ran? I remember worrying about Floyd being too aggressive in fact, it was worrying me he might get caught. People just want to criticize this dude without just admitting he's great an their fav can't beat him.

cosign this post, and same here, a couple times Canelo just barely missed him with some uppercuts :whew:. he was trying to time Floyd dipping under.

Mayweather vs. Canelo Huge Gate Confirmed By NSAC

While the totals are still being tallied for the number of pay-per-view units, confirmation was offered by the Nevada State Athletic Comission of Floyd Mayweather’s majority decision win over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez offering the most lucrative live gate in boxing history.

The September 14 headliner at the MGM Grand sold out in less than a day, generating a record–breaking $20,003,150 in ticket sales. There wasn’t a single ticket left at the box office, as 16,146 were sold at face value (and a large number resold at well above those amounts) and a mere 50 complimentary tickets issued.

The mark shatters the old record, also shared by Mayweather when his May ’07 split decision win over Oscar de la Hoya generated more than $19 million in ticket sales.

Mayweather ran his record to 45-0 (26KO) with a dominant performance over the previously unbeaten Alvarez, who entered as a unified 154 lb. titlist. The bout marked the third time in many tries that Mayweather has moved up to 154 lb. and won a title, despite having never lost any belt in the ring. Previous wins over Oscar de la Hoya and Miguel Cotto earned separate alphabet titles, though both were removed from his grasp after electing to fight at welterweight in his next fight each time out.

No word has been given on what Mayweather’s next move will be, other than the pound-for-pound king claiming beforehand that he intends to fight in May and September in each of the next two years. Saturday’s bout marked his second fight of 2013, returning after just four months, his quickest turnaround in more than a decade.

Mayweather-Canelo Breaks Mexico's TV Rating Record

LOS ANGELES - Nearly 8-out-of-10 households in Mexico with a television set tuned into last Saturday's "THE ONE: Mayweather vs. Canelo" mega-fight live on Televisa's Channel 5. The 12-round majority decision fight, which Mayweather won, garnered a national rating of 41.1 points, which equates to a 77 percent share, 22.1 million viewers and 5.9 million television households, making it the highest-rated boxing program ever on television in Mexico. The telecast peaked with a National rating of 42 points (78.4 percent share/22.6 million viewers6 million television households) and the total program average from 8:00 p.m. CT to 12:30 a.m. CT was 30.1 points (16.2 million viewers/4.3 million television households).
"Boxing fans demanded "THE ONE" and when we gave it to them they responded with these record ratings," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "This proves that great fights with great fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez will always strike a chord with viewers and that Canelo is undisputed as the biggest star Mexican boxing has today."The last time a sporting event rated this high on Televisa was in 1999, for a Copa Confederaciones soccer final between Mexico vs. Brazil, with the only other programs rating this high in Mexico being select, very popular telenovelas on Televisa's Channel 2.

.
The previous viewership high for Canelo, who has never garnered less than 7.5 million viewers for one of his eight appearances on Televisa, was his April bout against Austin "No Doubt" Trout, which pulled in a 28 point rating and over 15 million viewers.
