I'm not going to hate on the Canadian brehs here because they're generally cool, but I did get a kick out of the "Kings of CONCACAF" shyt because they won the Gold Cup won CONCACAF Nations League finished first in the WCQ Hex.

But on the other hand, let these brehs get excited. If the U.S. hadn't made the World Cup for decades and then a generational talent like Alphonso Davies accepted a USMNT invite and started a whole revitalization of my country's squad, I would talk a little shyt, too. They got humbled this WC, no need to pour it on.
That's all it is. I was just having fun with it myself. Was 2 years old during their last appearance and truthfully wasn't sure when the day would come I would live to see Canada in it again. Had to enjoy it knowing it would be 3 games and out (assumed Crotia/Belgium were the locks, the latter surprised me)

Plus that first game against Belgium, washed or not, gave some hope of leaving with atleast 1 point :dead::mjcry:

To @phcitywarrior point, Africa wouldnt embarrass itself in an expanded World Cup. Egypt, CIV, Burkina Faso, Algeria all could easily get similar results if they qualified.

It’s not just that there are more teams, but less likelihood of big teams missing the WC. If you got Algeria qualifying for every WC, then the likes of Fekir and Benzema may choose to play for their fatherland.

Egypt was tough to watch in AFCON, but yeah, they are defensively compact and would be the type of squad to grind out draws against better clubs and 1-0 worse clubs in this type of setting.

It's pretty exciting how CAF is getting better. I can't remember if I posted here that I thought Senegal was a dark horse contender in this WC (months ago, before Mane got hurt and all that), and maybe that was a bit too much hype for CAF on my part, but it feels like these African squads are getting closer and closer in talent and tactics to making a run to the finals or winning it all one of these cups.

I think by next WC CAF should be making runs for QFs and SFs. If CAF can get 3/4 in the QFs next WC then we’re really on our way.

I just hope CAF WCQ for 2026 isn’t some BS

That's awesome lil guy. Lemme know when the all important Fifa rankings are updated so I can save us both the time, and get your opinion directly from there
Can you explain one more time why the FIFA ranking is meaningless trash. You had it all figured out a couple months ago.

Man 4 years is a very long time in Africa. It’s sad to say but any damn thing can happen, coup, impeachment, war…I hope you’re right though, because for my money Africa (and South America) are playing the most enjoyable football to watch.
