It's different, but not that different from football and the line of scrimmage? Cuts out the cherry picking and make it so that the best (fastest) athlete wins out in a duel on who gets to the ball first.
It's been long said that there is a tie in between the USSF and MLS. Gotta have a quota of MLS players on the squad and in the starting lineup. Apparently the group SUM (Soccer United Marketing) that is made up of the owners of MLS teams and USSF were tied together until recently. Plus Greg is from the world of MLS.
Idk why FC Dallas can't put it together when they're always churning out young talent.
