I want Didier Deschamp gone and this world cup was the perfect chance.

the stars were aligning :mjcry:

Pogba. OUT

Benz. OUT :banderas: brought donkeys in midfield like Verocac, Guendouzi, that other breh brom Monaco etc

but then Brazil just had to choke, Netherlands put on a stinker for most of the match.

and now unfortunately, France is the blackest nation

this was the only chance to get him out :camby:

imma save more of my hate for later if they choke, but everything is aligning for them to repeat and make history since Brazil '70
Deschamps is out after this WC. Zidane takes over in January, at least that's what was said a couple months ago.

Most of these players played for either Belgium/the Netherlands national youth teams but after that, lack of opportunities made them chose Morocco, not pride.
Yes but pride and nationalism definitively play a role as well. In France many French-moroccans are in the youth academies and they chose Morocco if they cannot make the A France team.
What you see in Belgium and in the Netherlands is different. You see families that use the national youth system, but ultimately prioritize Morocco. This is pride and the result of education. Someone like Ziyech or Amrabat had the opportunity to make the Dutch teams. Same with Hakimi who ultimately rejected Spain.

Maybe another angle, do you think Pep might be coaching the spontaneity and individual creativity out of his players:jbhmm:The emphasis on systems and very specific roles seems to be an issue for his players on international duty.

Hmmm, pep is coaching with one purpose. To win the CL. He could probably give a fukk how that affects his players if they win in the end. It may be less the creativity and more the assurance of knowing you will have world class players on the end of your passes.

Are you seriously using Ziyech out of all people as an example of pride? :snoop:

The same guy who waited many years for a call-up from Holland that never came(but should have) who also behaved likes this with Morocco.

In September 2021, Ziyech was omitted from the national team squad due to a "poor attitude", having previously refused to play, citing an injury. Manager Vahid Halilhodžić said, "For the first time in my coaching career, I saw a national team player who doesn’t want to train and claims to be injured, although tests have shown he can play. I won't tolerate it".[95] Ziyech was then also left out of Morocco’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations squad.[96]

On 8 February 2022, Ziyech announced his retirement from international football at the age of 28, having fallen out with Halilhodžić over his claims of Ziyech feigning injury.[97] On 13 March 2022, Ziyech and his Moroccan teammate Noussair Mazraoui, both rejected Halilhodžić's invitation to represent the Morocco national football team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification – CAF Third Round against DR Congo, and reaffirmed his decision to retire internationally.[98][99] With Halilhodžić's sacking and appointment of Walid Regragui, Ziyech rescinded his resignation and rejoined the national team for the friendly against Chile on 23 September.[100]

And Amrabat was simply just not good enough.

Ziyech was ready to play for Netherlands…but the coaches at that time (Van Basten and Blind) ignored him because he was't playing for the big Dutch clubs (at that time) like Ajax or PSV.

Most Moroccan Dutch born players actually want to play for the Dutch national team. The competition to make the Dutch squad is heavy tho..most of them go the Morocco route because of that.

If you look at the Dutch national youth teams, almost 70% has an immigration history..so their first choice is always Netherlands.

This WC is about to change all of that tho

I could honestly see Uefa lobby Fifa if an African nation wins the Wc with a squad of euro nation under-21 “rejects

If anything, the way this ended up shaking out is is a bigger indictment on Vahid who has had problems with his stars every single job. Did the same in Japan and Algeria too. Not a coincidence he’s been fired three times in a row in the lead up to a World Cup.

Also Ziyech was called up to the Dutch team in 2015 same time he ultimately chose Morocco. Of course he would have less competition in Morocco, but plenty of players faced with same predicament choose country of their birth so there is something to the pride argument.

Same with Mazraoui and Hakimi, both would’ve gotten capped by the Netherlands and Spain.

It was difficult last year because Messi came late and wasn't prepared and was still processing his forced barca departure. And pochetino put him on the wing which was difficult for him. So his season was mediocre. Neymar too. Mbappe was basically carrying the team.
The problem is having three superstars on the front line is complicated because they don't defend much which cause the other players too do more work. And you can't subbed them because of their status.

Bolded wouldn't be that much of an issue if they weren't dependent on an Italian midget to play all 3 midfield positions at the same time.

how come Turkey never had a strong WC team? :jbhmm:

For the same reason African nations haven't. Colonialism/Immigration. There's a ton of Turkish talent that over the past few years declared for Germany and other central European nations. I personally think there's a couple of nations that have some unique situations. Like I know Senegalese are offered French citizenship, so almost none of those Senegal players were born in Senegal as their parents elected to move to France.

Harry Fraud :russ:

Speaking of Harry Fraud, what is this guys legacy? No honors for club or country a shytload of individual accolades. Where does he rank in the overall scheme of things?

Unless he wins something, he'll be Charles Barkley status with none of the charisma. He gets the push for being a great white hope in a sport that's becoming more brown/black by the minute. But in the end he'll be dwarfed by living in an era of BOTH Messi/CR7 AND Mbappe/Haaland.
