Come on y’all, we gotta help save this place. Black-owned bookstores have been struggling for survival since the late 2000’s. Anytime I’m Uptown along The Ave, I always make it a point to hit up Sankofa. It’s like a pilgrimage for me, love that place to death. The #DontMuteDC and #LongLiveGoGo movements should get in on this too. We gotta protect as much of DC’s Black cultural heritage as we possibly can. Not just the music but the cultural institutions as well.

@Stacker Pentecost Hey Queen, do you think you can touch on Sankofa’s predicament on a future Youtube vlog? I think it’ll be dope if both you and @2Quik4UHoes link up together and document what’s going on and interview ppl on the streets about Sankofa’s situation and what they can do to help out. Interview ppl at HU’s campus too since a lot of Howard kids hit up Sankofa as well.

I thought about making a thread but yeah, if y’all could support with a letter or pull up on Monday for the Council meeting that’d be great.

I’m actually on camera in the Channel 9 story. I ain’t feel like gettin interviewed that day but I’m all on camera fixing the shelves cuz I hated how they looked. Anything is plenty though y’all. We all we got.

I have jury duty today. I don't mind but I have some moving to do. I hope this is a one day deal. Last time i got a triple attempted murder that last 3 days.

What was the outcome of the case?

Three days for a triple awik is light, I've worked trials that went on for 4-5 weeks

I fought for about 5 hours until everyone agreed with me. We found him not guilty on all counts. He literally had 12 different charges.

This time I got assigned for a civil case on a car accident out in Largo but they didn't pick me.

The whole case was BS. They had zero physical evidence that a shooting ever took place. No shells, no bull holes. They even had a video tape of this supposed shooting and while this shooting was supoose to be taking place people other people were walking around. PG county really tried it. The sad thing the other jurors was really ready to send him to jail for life with no physical evidence because this chick cried on the stand.
