I mean even in 2004, Skip Murphy & the Morning Team had this song in the regular rotation like it was Outkast or Usher during that time.

Dallas and Houston have nearly identical racial demographics but the perception of each town is quite different.

H-Town feels more "southern" while a lot of people consider Dallas to be part of South Oklahoma....like a more diverse cosmopolitan OKC.

Read the book, "The Accommodation" by Jim Schutze. Written in 1987/1988 but explains the politics of the city from a historical perspective and why Dallas is similar yet very different from other Sunbelt cities. The way things are...good and bad....in Dallas is by design, not accident.
