i remember I did a summer program at Richland College when I was in High School & there were hood nikkas from South Dallas, Oak Cliff, & Pleasant Grove in the program too. They didn't know much about North Dallas either. I wonder if part of the disconnect is becuz NorthEast Dallas/Lake Highlands is serviced by Richardson ISD schools instead of Dallas ISD schools.

Anyways @IsThatBrothaMouzone? don't forget about some the sketchy pockets in NorthWest Dallas. Just from reading reviews online for apartments in North Dallas over the years, any North Dallas apartment that accepts Section 8 has a good chance of being a sketchy.
That's exactly it....Lake Highlands probably has more rivalry with Berkner or JJ Pearce.

Think they play more of the DISD schools in sports now so it might not be as foreign as it used to be. Never knew why they were RISD instead of DISD but it probably has something to do with desegregation and white flight in the 60s.

North Dallas apartments...good way to know if it's shady. Go on the website...if 80% of the pictures are of the leasing office and the one good swimming pool, it's sketchy fukk.

I remember going to the Boys N Girls clubs as a kid. No matter how hood someone was, anytime we went to the West Dallas BGC, everyone was like "ooooh that's ghetto"....kids from South Dallas was clutching they pearls :russ: .

Like PG, Oak Cliff, South Dallas, East Dallas (before gentrification) had a rep but West Dallas....we just didn't talk about that :russ:
By all accounts I hear west Dallas used to
Be the worse part of the city. Now it’s literally the safest.
Ironically during the time where west Dallas was the worse, PG and North Dallas(north east) weren’t even bad like that. Now it flipped.

After two firefighters were injured responding to another fire last March, complete demolition was ordered and now it's finally complete. An official announcement of what's to come is expected Tuesday morning.

:heh: When you think about it, It's wild that there were 3 major malls all in North Dallas. 2 of them not just in Far North Dallas, but literally a walking distance down the street from each other. I'd love to know the backstory of how that came to be.
