Any travels on the African continent in the near future?
I'm thinking about doing Nigeria and Ghana before I start my new job (if I get it). At the same time, something is calling me back to South Africa for at least another week. But it'd be tough to swing another South Africa trip because I'd need to apply for a visa and all. Maybe after I get the US citizenship I'll take a trip in like September 2019.

I got Kigali in Feb, for my birthday Im thinking about Egypt,Morroco, Durban, or an Asian destination like Tokyo. American fall appears to be rainy season in west Africa so I wont do another west africa trip until 2020
Think I'm going to hire a driver for a few days in Kigali.
Why not use Uber/Taxify?
they dont have either. I see they do have something called 250 taxi which is their version of Uber.
Really? Quite surprising. I'll say this man, technology has been an amazing leveler for travel in SS Africa. Where as a few years back going to a country like Kenya or Nigeria would have required getting a personal car hire or such, now, you can move quite comfortably and easily with Uber and other ride hailing apps.
Simply get on ground, pop in a domestic sim card and your up and running.
I remember when I landed in SA. Got to the airport, got a sim and within 15 mins I got my bags and hailed an uber. My entire trip was just moving door to door with Uber. Same thing with Kenya.
Pro-tip, get one of those cases that charges your phone while you have the phone in the case. One thing I forgot about SS Africa is the lack of phone charging opportunities and support for apple products. I went out once in Nairobi and my phone went flat. No one at the bar had charger. Had to hail a taxi the old fashioned way
Got me thinking about my next trip down there. For my next SA trip I'm not sure if I should rent a car or not
Jo'Burg is definitely a car centric place and getting in between two points on the map can be difficult without a car, even with ubers available. The taxis and ubers are beefing heavy so Ubers don't show up to certain places. Add to that is Jo'Burg and its car jackings, which is just another liability. To sum it all up is that South Africans drive on the other side of the road. The trade off may not be worth it.
I'll play it by ear. I may decide to stay further North (Rosebank,Sandton) next time I come around. Maboneng (downtown) is dope to go hang out on a Saturday/Sunday while vibing in a social setting but the ballers be at Rosebank, Sandton (I'm trynna ball out when I get back to SA

I'm torn man. I feel like I gotta go back and do SA right but at the same time EAC is calling me (specifically Uganda and Rwanda). I could do a week in SA and a week in the EAC but then I'd have to skip out on Lagos. But I haven't been to Lagos in a minute. Waiting till December 2019 may be too long as it concerns networking even though I'll be in Nigeria for at least 2 weeks in December 2019.
I would say do EAC and Nigeria for Spring and SA in summer but SA doesn't really make sense during the American summer as it's their winter over there and their winters are actually quite chilly
. Last time I was out there it actually hit 50s on some nights 
Anyway let's see. Worst comes to worse I go to SA and EAC for 2 weeks then go to Nigeria in July for my cousins wedding for a few days, branch to Lagos for like 2 nights and then go back to Nigeria again in December when everyone comes back for Christmas

West Africa is best during December/Christmas like you said, during the drier and relatively cooler months. Rainy season is no joke.
