The current run seems to be a take on the man without fear run. Marvel fukked up panther by having black writers write for him, not black fans of the character. I said it at the time,and it still holds now, tchalla is best written in Avengers books that his own series
It's not necessarily that they are picking black writers. It's that they are picking black writers who don't understand the character. They wanted to tell stories, just not Black Panther stories. I won't get into the discussion of the type of stories they wanted to tell.
But basically we got a T'Challa who has been emasculated and turned into a bumbling idiot.
Priest and Hudlin were the last two writers who got T'Challa right in his own book.
As you stated before, lately he has been portrayed more consistently in character in Avengers books. (Johns & Hickman nailed it during their respective runs)
