Not like there's much of a choice since the book is getting cancelled next month
I wasn’t reading that trash book.

616 T’Challa will always be around/return for some trash writer with their trash agendas.

But at least with the Ultimate version, it’ll be out of sight/out of mind. I wouldn’t even care for the 616 Avengers team book version, which is typically very solid.

Black Panther hasn't been consistently interesting since the Hudlin run.

Geoff Johns' early 2000''s Avengers run also had an excellent portrayal of T'Challa. His rivalry with Stark was one of the most interesting dynamics of his run.

Oh, I can't forget Hickman's Avengers run also had an excellent BP.

The current run seems to be a take on the man without fear run. Marvel fukked up panther by having black writers write for him, not black fans of the character. I said it at the time, and it still holds now, tchalla is best written in Avengers books that his own series

It's not necessarily that they are picking black writers. It's that they are picking black writers who don't understand the character. They wanted to tell stories, just not Black Panther stories. I won't get into the discussion of the type of stories they wanted to tell.:francis: But basically we got a T'Challa who has been emasculated and turned into a bumbling idiot.

Priest and Hudlin were the last two writers who got T'Challa right in his own book.

As you stated before, lately he has been portrayed more consistently in character in Avengers books. (Johns & Hickman nailed it during their respective runs)

Fall of the House of X#2 was a mess, filled with off panel big events and comic-y troupes that felt foreign to the Krakoa Era.

Duggan fumbling his side of this story :francis:

At least we still have Gillen and Ewing :whew:

Word is that DC is going to do their own version of an Ultimate universe. Smart idea, its obvious they wanted to do a reboot after that Metal event but kinda changed their minds. A DC Ultimate universe is a much better idea.

That's what Earth 1 should've been.
