I just read the issue and I feel part of this is Ewing simply not wanting anything to do with Secret Empire since half his team is locked in outer space by a shield at least three of them should be able to bypass simply by the definition of what they are.
And I don't mind the shift to more cosmic stuff, at first it felt a bit clumsy but lately it seems that Ewing has found his groove more with this stuff. If only Marvel can stop throwing trash artists on this book.

Inspired by DC's rebirth. I'm not really excited though because Marvel has done so many relaunches or something similar in the last few years. Only Marvel stuff I'm reading right now are both Captain America books, Kingpin, and X-Men Gold.

I think it's kind of a metaphor on the present situation in our country of President Trump being elected. I get it but at the same time it doesn't make sense. HYDRA has been around as a known organization since World War 2. Their first leader (Strucker) was a known Nazi war criminal. All their leaders have been Nazi's or neo-nazi/fascists that have tried to take over the world. From a logical standpoint no American should be cool with them taking over even with Captain America as the leader.Comic book observations.

The Batman line has the best staff of editors n writers I've ever seen. I can literally pick up any Bat related book and it is GOOD.
This is comic though so logic has to be thrown out though.
The first issue was him going on a gay dating site for the first time...sprinkled around visiting his pops in hospital and fighting some villain there.
This week's issue was he and Kitty and a pick-up mission for a new mutant, but Kitty having "the talk" with him as his most recent ex, in between their adventure. If they take out the gay-ish, it would be a fun series. They didn't even have to make him gay, but since they did...don't shoehorn a character with 50+ years of existence into some box that doesn't even fit the narrative.

its not so far fetched... there' have been plenty of shows like that, when instead of fighting the govt collude's with the enemy... Look at the man in high castle, or colony... 
America was founded on genocide, slavery and terrorism control of others isnt out that realm of possibilities...
Iceman has such fun powers..its a shame they got that niche hanging over the series.
