Dr Doom is the Marvel universe's greatest villain though. He was punking cosmic beings as far back as the original Secret Wars. He achieved godhood (or something close to it) multiple times before. This has nothing to do with Hickman being a Doom fanboy. It has everything to do with writing Doom as Doom is supposed to be written.

:mjlol: nah, Doom stole Silver Surfers powers waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy in Fantastic Four issue 50something or other.

Up until that point, Surfer was the third most powerful being Marvel Earth had ever seen outside of Galactus and The Watcher.

Doom been shytting on cosmic beings his entire career.

Dan Slott tried his damnedest to take Hank Pym in a new direction, so did Dwayne McDuffie when he wrote that Beyond mini series. The problem is as soon as Pym is under someone elses control he turns right back into Hank "Hard on Hoes" Pym.

although i didnt care for superior spider man, i do respect slott for not going down the same damn path with pym that other writers tend to. playing off his schizoid attacks? fine. his self doubts as a hero? fine as well. that feeling that hes always failing, or that everyone deserves a second change? dope. but that rarely happens. i was hoping pymtron would be a different change of pace, but i guess as long as pym is in there, its not happening

And in his first appearance the Thing punched him in the back of the head and knocked him off a roof.......

I REALLY like Ultimates, but even I gottta admit that Al Ewing needs his ass whooped for this book being a Galactus solo series.

I came in here to say :dwillhuh: about the ultimates.

That's like cosmic level cosmic right there.

The book is dope if you love cosmic stuff, but the shyt was promoted as a team book about some of the biggest heavy hitters in the Marvel Universe taking out cosmic level threats before they reach earth.

The majority of the story has been about Galactus tho. Great story, but a lot of wasted potential. I know Ewing's shyt get hijacked by events all the time, but damn.

This issue of Batman was King's best by far! It certainly took a while but if the rest of the storyline is going to be this good we're in for something serious. :whew:
