Ohhhhh okkkk . :ohhh:I’ve never seen this movie. That’s like the series, Castle Rock, season 2 which was a quasi origin story for Annie from Misery.
Yeah, it is pretty much the same thing as Season 2 of Castle Rock.

And you should check out Cuckoo's Nest...it's a great movie.

When you're done suffering through that movie come back and see if you agree or disagree with my review. :sas2:
My boy told me before going in that Rob Zombie creates movies for himself and the best part of all Zombie films is the dialogue. I kept that in mind.

The Good: My favorite part was indeed the trio. I was so engaged with their acting I had first assumed these were random-ass ladies who destroyed their roles. Not knowing these women are vets with decades of experience. I knew the twist with the trio being evil because it seems like a common theme in the cult sub-genre within horror. If you seen one horror movie using this formula then you saw them all. So when I just saw old ass ladies I knew what was up. But their acting blew my expectations away so yeah I agree with them being the best part.

Another thing that was good was indeed the dialogue. I got more from the dialogue than the actual movie itself. A lot of quotables that you could break down and discuss.

And I actually like Sheri Moon Zombie in this role because she fits the role. Not saying she had a stand out acting performance, but more so for I just see her being that person. I could totally imagine a recovering addict radio host in some small ass town for her. I thought the casting for that was perfect.

The bad: As I said my friend said Zombie writes for himself. But still, shyt a lot of shyt didn't make sense. The thing that sticks out to me the most is how in the end Sheri shuts the door on her coworkers. And then that's the end of that lol. They don't try to break in they don't call the cops or anything. The Janitor finds the bodies, I probably need to watch some interviews on him explaining the movie because a lot of shyt doesn't make sense. And there can be a good thing of not shyt making sense because as a viewer shyt can go over your head and sometimes shyt is hard on purpose for discussion but I don't feel like that's the case here.

The nudity and all the extra weird shyt was disgusting. I like nudity and weird shyt in my horror but this was just like WTF status. I can't imagine Rob Zombie being a guy who wakes up in the morning drinking a coffee while reading the new yorker or any typical average life. I just imagine this dude living a life where it's horror and evil shyt 24/7 and if that's not true then I'm disappointed. But yeah this isn't the type of movie I would want to watch with a chick or any friends and family lmao.

Not bad nor good just a random thought: Why scary movies always got an old white man as the guy interrgating shyt and why is there always a scene in scary movies where someone in a library or on their computer finding out the truth 10 mins right before the conclusion? :pachaha: That shyt is in like 90 percent of scary movies.

IMO I thought the movie was decent/okayish.

I think you were too harsh as a critic. This is scary movies we're talking about. This is why we don't take movie reviewers opinions seriously. They only like a scary movie once every five years, and it has to be a blockbuster title. But at the end of the day it's your opinion.

Didn't feel like my time was wasted so I take it as a plus.

@SourPowerStraws save your emotional affected neg for the thread that I actually commented on relevant to that thread in that forum; you TLR trolling hyperc00n spastic bytch- that’s why you stay getting aired out and exposed over there. Not my problem. The dirt is on you, keep it In TLR. Following me to a thread in a whole different part of the site that you are never in. That latest thread with your name; you would be too scared and intimidated to watch more than 10 mins of what we discuss over here on a regular basis.

First off, im a chick and I am a fan of his movies so I find that particular comment insensitive and offensive.

and.. art doesn’t always cross over into real life. There is a separation. Again, I’m probably the last person that people would think spends 85% of television or steaming time watching horror content, when you look at the picture of my outside presentation (family, work, kids,) but horror is an interest influenced by my dad and brothers so I’m never going to downplay it just bc I don’t fit the description of a “horror viewer”. that’s called being multidimensional. No one is evil or thinks evil 24/7 that’s called a sociopath. No one should go into a Rob Zombie movie thinking it’s date night material or family viewing either - most RZ movies I know to watch alone bc the average non horror viewer won’t get it, thinks his content is too vulgar, etc. I’m not sitting there watching Devil’s Rejects with my mom - my dad still sends me out the room during movie “sex scenes” even though I’m grown and haven’t lived at home in yrs and with 2 kids - that his line that he doesn’t cross so I respect that. It has nothing to do with the content creator. It’s just called boundaries. Most of my friends won’t even watch Saw without losing their mind- it’s not horror is in the same classification as Dwayne Johnson , the Rock action movie so that’s not a fair comparison.

Ughhh. Let me finish reading through what you wrote and compose myself with a formulated response another time.

You definitely should watch Rob hone his craft and see how he develops his material when he’s in his own element outside the persona - I recommend the Halloween documentary.

him and Jamie Foxx
:deadmanny:
by no means do I listen to rock music, (I’m a black woman from NYC, I mean ..lol) but knowing his background helped me to appreciate and learn about his concepts of horror movie making. How he channels his creative energy. I’m an “artist “ with an affinity for gothic, crevices of the mind type deal but I could still flip it into watching Bob Ross painting for an hour, watch a horror movie and go to listen to Nina Simone - next day - I’m in the mood for rap; doing coloring pages with my daughter or drawing my own designs, writing content or reviews. I don’t think one interest should define anyone’s character or depth.

He reminds me of my Public Policy professor in college - he doesn’t talk like how I expected, I wlll say that.
