2 things...

1. this reminds me of the story from one of the "Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark" books where this lady driving was getting freaked out by the driver behind her who kept flashing his high beams or some shyt.
only to reveal there was someone in the back seat of her car the whole time.
That is an existing urban legend that was used in the movie Urban Legends.

2. woulda been cool if Carl was actually Carl Lucas (Luke Cage) and the cop fired at him hitting him and the bullet boucing off and striking the cop in the forehead killing him instantly.
I actually wanted the audience to fear that Carl a black man was in danger from a cop in a sundown town.

You write that story. I'm just trying to get a little scare.
Lol
Thats why i said Luke Cage as your character.
Just adding another dimension to your story.
I cant be writing no stories.
I exist on an astral plane of fukkery you couldnt concieve.

The road was pitch black. Carl could barely see in front of his high beams. He'd drove as fast as the limit would allow him. He wish he could drive faster, but didn't want to alert the local authorities, he had heard stories of police in sundown towns. He could see the highway up ahead and almost sighed with relief until he heard the whirring of klaxon's. He stopped the car and pulled over to the side of the road and said a silent prayer that he would come out of this alive.

"Driver step out of the vehicle." Carl got out of the car and saw the officer pointing the gun.

"Step this way." The officer motioned and as soon as Carl go into range of him. The office opened fire. Carl was frozen for a second he felt a hand touch his shoulder.

"Good thing we saw you when we did or that thing would have gotten you." The officer pointed to the car and in the back seat was something that looked like a goat with human legs.

"We try to have everyone inside by sundown since, well stuff like this goes out at night."

The officers carted the body away and Carl got back in his car. The left rear glass was shattered. The officer leaned down and handed him a card. "There's an auto repair shop next town over tell 'em Clint sent ya. Don't worry, They're friendly folk. Drive safe now."

And with that the police left and Carl continued on his way, sure to never come this way again and invest in a fire arm.

@Nicole0416 @storyteller @morris @MartyMcFly @Jello Biafra @BXKingPin82 @cac poster. New story just finished at work. Thoughts.

Gave me Southbound vibes heavy. Definitely has a strong visual feel for something that didn't hammer us with descriptors. My one constructive idea would be for the creature to get away, so that Carl only gets a glimpse of it running away in the shadows and distance...only because I feel like you could keep this story going and that threat would stay just outside of view at the conclusion of this juncture.

So I finally finally got around to Midsommar. Not for me :russ: I just couldn’t get into it. And it’s not about Ari. I just couldn’t find an entrance with these characters. It almost felt like Kubrick in how it’s detected a bit.

Also very disappointed in Tammy and the trex. A premise Ike that demands more fukkery. That shyt was subdued as hell. Not funny enough or at all and not scary enough or at all. Meh
:francis:....:mjcry:No one likes the movie except for me :deadmanny:

@Nicole0416 ironically that staring woman story is also derivative of a Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark story. I'm telling yall fam, Scary Stories is the GOAT of children's horror.
i ordered the lil box set off Amazon awhile ago, around the time the movie was announced i think.

only read my kid a few stories tho.
but really just wanted as a collectors type thing.

I did the same a while back. After I found out they'd changed the illustrations, caught flack and then changed them back. I went and bought the trio with the original illustrations, too crucial to the experience to risk them trying to change 'em again in the future.
