Harpoon was entertaining. I never know how to categorize a movie like it because it's more comedy and thriller than horror but it gets listed with horrors and I love these types of movies. Anyway...my favorite aspect is how the narrator lets you know from the opening scene that the POV on these characters is that we hate them. Then we get to watch a dark comedic take on a typical horror trope that calls back directly to the birth of the trope. But all of this self-awareness is me going meta on a movie that's really just entertaining.
Three friends who all keep secrets from each other take a boat ride, they end up stranded, secrets come out and with each reveal the plot thickens in dark but funny ways...and by establishing that we really shouldn't like the characters, the narrator makes it more fun than horrific or uncomfortable to watch unfold. The characters and the dialogue are hilarious takes on privilege in its different shapes and forms. The comedy is sharp without being as pretentious as my description probably sounds.
Funny move...solid 7.5 out of 10 in my book. It's not long, the plot moves forward quickly and it's pretty ridiculous but in the fun way.

Nah I didn't go. My book has adult content and that is more of family friendly venue. It's also too small.
