Nah..don't bring that type of energy into this thread please. Let's stick to the topic of discussion without the off topic insults and negativity that doesn't have anything to do with a horror film discussion. There's enough of that dumb repetitive shyt going in tlr, this is neutral territory.

-Sadly, a new golden age can only come when the previous one ends, and the past decade was indeed ravaged by a whole lot of loss. We lost Wes Craven, George Romero and Tobe Hooper in the past ten years, and though the decade kicked off with films from both Craven and John Carpenter, we mostly went without many of our favorite horror masters in the 2010s. But with one era behind us, these past ten years have brought some clear focus to what the future of the horror genre is going to look like, with new masters rising up and making their presence known as leaders of this particular golden age. Jordan Peele, Mike Flanagan, Ari Aster, James Wan, Robert Eggers, Jennifer Kent, Andy Muschietti and Fede Alvarez are just a handful of the filmmakers who each have at least one film on this list, and the originality and variety they’ve brought to the genre has played a huge part in the past decade being so extraordinary.

I didn't tag you in this thread, when you asked your question for you and @cac poster to be spazzing on each other, over unrelated sports topics. Both of yall need to chill with all that unnecessary back and forth. We stay on topic in here. Thx.

OMG... can I just say that this movie was really really good. Omar Epps in the lead role and a few supporting cast cameos from the "Scream" movies. Definitely gives a nod to Scream but without the comedic undertones. This was a very decent slasher film. I may be biased bc I'm a huge Omar Epps fan but the storyline and unexpected plot twists gets a recc from me. (streaming on Hulu). The body count starts as soon as the movie opens. By the time the movie ends, I know the body count numbers had to be at least 50- :deadmanny::merchant:
‘Trick’: Exclusive First Look at Omar Epps in Patrick Lussier’s Slasher [Interview]
Writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier, who collaborated on My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry, reteamed on Trick, a brand new Halloween-themed horror film that’s heading to the ongoing Cannes market. Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive first look at Omar Epps in the main role of Detective Mike Denver, a man obsessed with a killer that has eluded him for years.

The story centers on an elusive serial killer, who descends upon a small town annually. He is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each seemingly unrelated. No one believes this could be the same killer. Detective Denver (Epps) has faced Trick once before, having shot and killed him. Or so everyone keeps telling him. However, Denver knows Trick is still out there, and he’s coming back for revenge.

“Todd and I wanted Trick to pay both homage to its genre predecessors and cut a new trail with its slasher-noire set up,” Lussier tells Bloody Disgusting.

When did it drop? I remember having it on my radar but never saw a release

Evil Dead and Get Out are my two picks. I don't think I've ever watched Evil Dead and not thought how nasty and unrelenting that movie is. The dope thing about it is it lets you know off top what it's style is and what it's going to do. Doesn't hold any of that shyt a secret; you're either down or you're not and that's that

Not sure of the exact date. But I was on a hulu horror binge last night and it popped up in my reccs. I really liked it - it was a multi-layered horror movie.
Definitely not a run of the mill type slasher - combination of psychological torture and serial killer. Jamie Kennedy from Scream is in this too, there was a part of the movie where they slipped in a 'scream' reference, the delivery was not cheesy either - it was one line but they did it so smoothly.

Yeah. It's very dope. Might take a bit to get used to the British slang and accents because they talk really fast lol but once you settle in, it's a great ride
I watch UK shows and movies alllll the time, for a few years now. My ears have adjusted to it. Top Boy, the series, was like that too, with all the different accents and slangs. It's second nature to me lol. Same thing with Spanish language, Italian and French shows. Once you start watching them - it's nothing to adapt to the nuances.
