Red Band trailer for "The Grudge" is released.
Red-Band Trailer For 'The Grudge' Released by Sony - Horror News Network
Sony Pictures has released the red-band trailer for The Grudge, the latest attempt at a remake of the 2004 Japanese ghost feature Ju-On: The Grudge. And just like the original, this film looks like it will creep the hell out of you (as well as give you pause entering someone else’s house.) The trailer can be seen below.

The Grudge, this time produced by the great Sam Raimi (Drag Me To Hell, the Evil Dead franchise) and directed by Nicolas Pesce (The Eyes of My Mother), is based on the modern horror classic of the same name which was written by Takashi Shimizu. The original film spawned an American remake in 2004, followed by two decreasingly-successful sequels. Shimizu directed the first two, but was just credited as a writer on The Grudge 3. He is listed as a writer on the latest picture as well, as it is based on the original screenplay. The American films grossed nearly $260 million worldwide, but nearly 75% of that total came from the first film in 2004.

Speaking of busting ghosts, according to Deadline the third film to be based on the paranormal investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren now has its full title straight from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

The official synopsis reads it is a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil, a case that shocked even the experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational from their files, it begins with a fight for the soul of a young boy and takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before marking the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.

Reprising their roles from the first two films, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga star as real-life paranormal investigators Mr. and Mrs. Warren respectively.

The sequel is set for release on September 11, 2020.
The real story of alleged demonic murder dramatized in "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" is another untrustworthy Ed and Lorraine Warren paranormal investigation
The true story behind The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It took place in the small town of Brookfield, Connecticut, which, according to People magazine, suffered its very first recorded homicide in February of 1981, when Arne Cheyenne Johnson stabbed his landlord to death. Johnson was a 19-year-old tree arborist, who, after a heated argument with his landlord, Alan Bono, killed the man with a pocketknife, thrusting the five-inch blade into Bono's chest multiple times. Johnson was arrested two miles from the scene of the homicide.

Eight months later, Johnson plead not guilty to murder, claiming the devil made him do it. Johnson's defense rested on the claim that his fiancée, Debbie Glatzel—who had been present at the killing of Bono—had a younger brother who was possessed by demons. After an attempted exorcism, Johnson claimed to have invited the demons into his own body, sparing Debbie's brother.

You read my mind. James Gunn is the perfect example of incorporating great music that fits the mood. Out of the entire Marvel cinematic universe, I can watch Guardians of the Galaxy over and over because of the music. A lot of great directors use great music.
Yup. James is the man

You know what? Us. The painstaking love letter to horror that that movie was. I'd say US.
Can’t say that I agree  though it had a good first act. I hope his next movie is an improvement in scriptwriting. I think he got that one off the drawing board too quickly and it hindered what could have been a great sophomore effort. Nyong’o’s efforts were somewhat wasted on an unfinished story

That was a real interesting movie though. I have to give it that. I liked that better than Get Out. Until I watch Doctor Sleep- I would say US was the number one sleeper (lol) movie for me bc I wasn't expecting it to be that intense and suspenseful. I liked that movie a lot. @cac poster Crawl is another one on my list that I liked in my top 10. Least favorite and most disappointing for the hype that it got was IT2
Crawl was a cool creature-feature, easy popcorn flick. I agree that It 2 was garbage.

I love Brie Larson as an actress but they might have went a bit far with the feminist angle. Marvell should've been a male and then Carol still would've played a crucial character.

Doctor Strange threw me off the same way with making the ancient one a white woman. Some things just don't need to be changed.

Back to captain marvel. That no doubt song during the fight scene was terrible. They could've chose a song from straight line stitch or paramore to give Carol a badass score.
It’s not feminism. It’s fukking Disney taking your dollars and pretending to care about a human issue, so that you praise them with lots of positive emojis and get kids to think that all is well in the world if we have warm fuzzy feelings

This is not specifically about that one movie but I just wanna state, for the record, that we can’t let ourselves be fooled by shyt like this.

A Villa Straylight.
You know me, I'm not with this hyper-feminist "woke" culture intersectionality wave that has become the new trend these days or that seeks to replace traditional roles. I'm not one to support the usurping of male roles or emasculating of men. But I know how critics whitewash movies and don't give minority actors a fair shake in certain genres anyway. So I will be going into BC with this in mind. I have read both sides of the reviews, so we shall see.
I'm interested in your take. I don't usually see horror films in theaters but if you guys say it's good I'll see it.
