I've realized my issue with any Scream not written by Kevin Williamson: Everyone tries to impersonate him rather than doing their own thing. So it all comes off as forced or contrived because they can't find their own voice(s). You get faux "smart" dialogue and "cleverness" and you're just imitating the guy who did it much better than you 20 years ago. Scream 3, parts of Scream 4, and all three seasons of the tv show suffer from this. Cats are either too afraid to step out of his shadow or just don't know what they're doing
Netflix might as well be an advertisement for what not to watch with their “recently added” as far as U.S. horror movies. This new release “Soul to Keep” is nothing but witch and Wiccan porn. 46 mins in and I’m not bothering to watch the rest. Horrible movie.
They always promote the wack stuff make you dig for the good stuff
Idk who curates their horror section but they need to be educated or let go

I started watching it the other day and shelved it to the watchlist. Opening scene had a naked lady waking up to a dead naked rotting corpse, 
I’m 0 for 2 with Netflix today, might as well finish checking this out. Glutton for punishment. I’ll let you know.

40 mins in- im engaged. Definitely not your typical horror movie - this is kind of deep and introspective. See what you think about it. Has the “dexter” voiceover affect. I wouldn’t have thought to finish watching it until you mentioned it. Similar to what @MartyMcFly was saying, Netflix needs to figure out how to market this better and stop pushing the trash. I would have thought this was a regular formulaic zombie slasher .. it’s good so far.

Shudder got the game on lock. They need to take notes. Not saying they gotta get the same stuff but at least push your good stuff. And don’t try to tell me this thing about zombies is something I’d like based on me viewing nothing but slashers. That’s silliness
