Dope. Creepy as hell, ominous, thought provoking, and some pretty damn dope kills

Kills were def an improvement over get out

I feel like they could have had less verbal explanation about the backstory and it would have served the movie better overall, but obviously this was meant to be as accessible as possible.

Shadow-lupita’s whole diatribe at the chalkboard was too much explanation imo, opened up questions that would have been better off untouched

Some of the build-ups sucked to me too, ie. The daughter chase and the “she’s on top of the car” thing fell totally flat to me.

I did enjoy the uniqueness of it which is a lot to say in the mainstream horror market today. I’ll take ten of these over one Hereditary. It reminded me a lot of “They Live!” with a slightly different angle. Both feel like comments on the same era of American culture

Watched The Dark Half. Romero fx saved what might have otherwise been the most boring and useless Stephen king movie (and that’s saying something)

Rob Zombie just aint it for me man.
Never has been. I appreciate his effort tho, I'll give him that.
Standout was dude that played the Doom Head character who was also in "Perfect Skin" and "Mandy."

It was pretty much some standard issue zombie/comedy shyt, but i enjoyed it.
The father was funny to me. When they broke into the ladies house and he was drunk and high was stoooooopid!

this was actually a short film (bout 11 minutes I think).
it was pretty intriguing to be so vague in what it was trying to accomplish.
what that is...
i dont know. lol

but it was interesting. dude leaving blood trails everywhere in the house was funny.

Just finished Hereditary last night. “Cluck”

Watched this yesterday to kick off this horror movie run I'm on and I'm not sure what's more terrifying:

The lead actress' screams and mannerisms

The monster itself

Spoiler

The fact that she really had sex with it like she said she did

The cloning process and explanation

There being a clone of the woman long before the audience is told about the process

Realizing that dude came back home just to find out his wife was stolen by a spawn of satan :dayum:

And I know I'm still missing a few plot points like "pink socks"

Finally checked out Us last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. I need one or two more movies from Peele just to go full auteur study on him because he has his own style and you know it's his movie out the gate. There's a lot I wanna go back and rewatch to form full opinions on with meaning, just reflecting on it...there's a LOT to unpack. But what's dope is that he packed all of that symbolism in a movie with that much tension and horror. I do co-sign @cac poster that the exposition at the end dragged a little, thought the pacing was on point for most of the rest. Lupita Nyong'o needs to win some awards for her performance.
