I thought the ending worked.
Recently watched this in passing- "Bad Samaritan" because it came up on my recommendations (amazon prime), clicked on it bc I needed some background tv but it ended up an interesting watch as far as indie horror/thriller. The trailer doesn't do it justice. , slow build in the beginning they could have left out a few scenes but in the climax it but all made sense for the storyline. (One flaw is that two of the main characters kept changing between their irish and american accents during the tense moments) It's an American movie- setting is Portland, Oregon, but the writer/producer is from the UK and hired a few Irish actors.

It's a good hour before the killings start, and that wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to sit through mundane small-town high school coming of age tripe. Jamie Lee Curtis face long as a bytch too.
I can see how you would see that but I saw it as the movie playing on the viewers attachment to stuff like The Goonies/Stranger Things/Stand By Me and just handwaving away the fact that those fast ass kids were playing junior detective in a deadly adult situation they had no business being involved in and the ending basically brought the hammer down on them as a result.
I used to have that opinion but so much of modern media is just shamelessly using nostalgia to influence people's interest that I don't even think about it all that much any more.
They fleshed out the lead kid and the fat kid's characters. The other two kids were definitely character archetypes though.
This shyt is my distraction from the election stuff because otherwise I would be glued to cable news and my blood pressure would be rising to dangerous levels.
Watched it...that last scene of the supercut with the bf/gf got me ....
Watch part 2 I promise it’s great
But even though I disagree I respect the opinion. I hate the OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre so I understand being alone on an island not getting something that everyone else considers a classic.
