I know remakes/reboots are frowned upon but Night of the Comet is one of those movies that I really do think could benefit from an upgrade in budget and quality as long as the right creative people are involved and the casting is as good as the original.

That’s why you remake it to fit it in the current context. A movie like that or they live would be awesome in today’s context. Especially they live. They live should be like the body snatchers

I think setting the movie in the modern day can work . While the 1980s gave the film a certain charm it wasn't critical to anything about the movie (except for the whole thing with Reggie wanting to beat DMK's high score on the video game at the movie theater).

And with all the shyt going on with conspiracy theories and people not believing in facts anymore, setting a they live remake in current times would open up a ton of story ideas to mine.

I was watching the 1933 version of The Invisible Man and when I saw the name Gloria Stuart pop up, I was like "Gloria Stuart? :ohhh: Where have I seen that name before? OH!"

Claude Rains. Great movie with dope effects. I watch it every time it's on TCM.

Nah, cause most of those Body Snatchers are trash. None since have surpassed '78. I like them better when they go the Faculty route, and not-body snacthers.

I think They Live works perfectly as is. The B&W scenes help preserve it. DAMMIT they're showing it tonight down South Street and I just forgot about it. SMH

i think a lot of people will consider zombies to be played out at this point, but adding a gimmick like making it a period piece would help make it a little fresh.

also, i think the 1980s cold war fears of a potential ww3 and the resulting societal collapse added something to those movies that would be missing today. another thing was making fun of valley girls was novel at the time, not sure if the modern day equivalent is as fun to laugh at. are the 2 last girls alive in california going to be some instagram thots? :laff:

i think doing this movie straight up will have it end up as a netflix movie
