I loved this movie, but…why? The original still holds up well.

I'll be curious to see if they have a creative approach that incorporates modern HS dynamics in an effective way. But I'll be skeptical that it's just another cash grab, and it'll be damn near impossible to nail the cast like they did in the original. That whole 1998 cast is stars.

The charm of the cast along with the banger soundtrack created a vibe that sits nicely next to the other 90s teen horrors in Scream, Disturbing Behavior, I Know What You Did Last Summer, etc. They’re like…perfect time capsule flicks to me.

Also…how do you top prime Salma Hayek as the school nurse and Famke Janssen as the nerdy, awkward teacher who’s also horny for Hartnett. :mindblown: :pachaha:

That sub-plot definitely ain’t flying today. The 90s was just a different time. Raised an eyebrow at the news, but obviously still gonna peep because I love me some body snatching horror.

Elite casting agent. The whole cast is icons. I always forget Jon Stewart was randomly in there.

Now on Shudder, your Friday night movie

@Silkk @Saysumthinfunnymike @Vice Queen got Chris Jericho in it

I'll definitely peep this before the end of the weekend and write some thoughts up. I saw the first 20 minutes or so, and it gave me the vibe of having genuine appreciation for wrestling. The horror looked like it was about to ramp up, but I had to deal with a distraction, so I can't comment on the horror.

Grafted on Shudder was fukking wild. I'm late to the Shudder game and I feel like a real sicko sometimes for paying for a horror streamer, but it's pretty great.
I really liked Grafted. Shudder has a lot of quality stuff, especially if you don't mind subtitles (classic J-horror galore, Demian Rugna's standout work from Argentina including the best horror movie of 2023 IMO, and a bunch of Giallo ish).

And for horror heads, they also have series like Cursed Films and Horror's Greatest, which discuss the best horror movies documentary style.

Companion tonight and then Presence tomorrow. Heard the latter isn’t really a horror flick, but I’ll watch anything from Soderbergh.
I really liked Companion. I've been meaning to peep Presence too, but I think I'll wait for it to hit the streamers.

I totally slept on it tbh. I was really disappointed in Flesh and Blood, so I totally forgot another season dropped. I'll definitely give it a shot, because I liked the first three seasons (the one at the snow lodge is the standout for me).
