Rapid Reactions to some joints I've watched:
Black Cab...didn't like it.

MADS...Liked it a lot, almost feels like a 28 days later prequel on literally day one...and all in one long shot.

The Substance...Well-done body horror but they really coulda shaved some runtime off it.

Cuckoo...I feel like I should have liked this more than I did. I couldn't get into it, but the premise is creative in a way that's perfectly insane. But I was bored.

The year 3030
I hate fans that act like every horror movie has to be horror movie of the year for the movie to be good or for the movie to be someone’s favorite.

You ever run into someone with this elite mindset ?? I’d rather hang with the people who love shytty horror movies
i just wanna be entertained

the worst thing is a boring stupid ass horror movie...stuff like nightswim, strangers ch1, imaginary.

The worst thing a movie can be is boring, uninspiring or fail at what the filmmaker set out to achieve. If the movie is meant to be a throwback to the 80's slashers, for example, and it's done well and accomplishes it's goals, then I'm going to love it despite what some snobs or critics say....

I have a few friends like that.
Snubby horror fans.
Rarely discuss movies with them.
I think it's mostly the reason I don't fukk with modern horror like that.

I have found something to like in some horror flicks that possibly could have been filmed in someone's backyard.

I usually go into horror with the following expectations:

Are people dying at a decent rate?
Does the movie keep my attention?
Are the FX decent?
Then I am cool.

9 times out of 10 your hot new director will take ideas from "those type" of horror and make a watered down blockbuster and get deemed the new face of horror.

One of the reasons horror is my favorite genre, is that if you make something with love, it will inevitably find horror fans that appreciate it.

If the creators authentically care about the product, I might still have things to be critical about, but I'll be able to appreciate it. There are a lot more soulless cash-grabs nowadays (@Deltron's list just above fits that IMO), but there are also a bunch of gems to find.

back on my 80's watchthrough -

the last Slumber Party (1987)

This one ain't it
Microbudget slasher filmed in Lousiana
Its has some moments, but its just.........not a good flick

Alligator 2: the mutation (1991)
this one popped up on my plex share so i gave it a spin since i wacthed the first one a few months back

the fukkery is very high with this one
they did not have as much budget as the first one so you never really see the Alligator in full until the very end and its dark too...

Its missing the mini Kaiju feel of the first , but it chomps on anyone that gets in its way and has decent gore FX
If you are a completist , its worth a spin.

Mr.Todd:rip: dominance in a genre that rarely showcase US, left a young Black Horror Buff in awe:mjcry:

...til this day I still won't dare say his name 5times in the morror:damn:

Thank you CandyGOAT:boss: for all of your sweet thrills:wow:
James Earl Jones and Tony Todd. Two black icons with booming, yet instantly recognizable voices.

Protect Keith David at ALL costs. :aicmon:
