Sinister's was pretty dope.
I put Sinister right up there with Hereditary.

I gave Sinister another watch the same night I had posted that and I was way too harsh on it beforehand. I still could've done without the unnecessary jumpscares of the dead children playing hide and seek behind Hawke's character, but the film manages to stay tight all the way through in spite of such moment. Not everyone can blend true crime and the supernatural, but it makes for an enticing watch when it does work like here. I usually go back and forth between this and Get Out as the best Blumhouse horror. It really just depends on what I'm in the mood for that day.I put Sinister right up there with Hereditary.
As far as theatrical releases go:Any new shyt???

I watched it...it's not mid, it's pretty bad. They tried to make a prequel showing us how the kids took over the town. But they speed run it. The kids are a little creepy from jump, then the parents are locked up, and then there are a handful of unimaginative kills. Only the MC and the main bad have much backstory beyond the simplest tropes.New Children of the Corn just dropped, I haven't peeped it yet. Reviews seem mid.
Marianne legit creeped me out at points, so I’m in. Lizzy Caplan and Homelander also helps.
I see JoaquinSet already kickstarting the Best Actor campaign.Early reviews, he switched out a cut of midsommar for this, have people saying it's MoTY. More dark comedy-ish than midsommar and definitely hereditary too.
Gonna try to force myself to finish skinamarink tonight. I'm not feeling it as much as everyone else but it's not horrible horrible. Better than heck but definitely not watching his newer film. It's doing way way way too much

Get the feeling that while the film will likely kick ass, it’ll be too emotionally draining and divisive amongst the general audience. Loves me some Aster so I’m there regardless, but the next wave of reviews should be interesting.
