So the Rig is a joint with clear Lovecraftian inspiration running through the trailer.

I'm three episodes in and it's definitely got a cosmic horror vibe. But when I say slow burn, I've just past halfway and the it's still all build-up. A lot of weird ish has happen, there have been deaths and injuries, and there's a big mystery unraveling with an "the old Gods are behind this" feeling to it. But it feels soooo slow.

This is the second Amazon Prime series to catch me like this. It has just enough intrigue to make me need answers. But the actual viewing experience feels slow, I'm not particularly connected to any characters, and the small bits of action are morsels like the first dish from the movie the Menu.

There's still time for a real payoff though. The midway point implied interesting answers and curious threads. So, there's just enough hope to keep me watching. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but Cosmic Horror fans that really need a fix so far.

I tapped out at episode 3 - it is definitely taking too long to get where it’s going.

Tell Baz to risk his life climbing up to fix the repair on the rig and then Blame Baz for everything
:mjpls:
I could care less what happens to any of them - agreed. No connection at all ,

Gonna check out Infinity Pool tonight. Not looking for a masterpiece, just a wild ass ride. Mia Goth embracing the fukk outta these weird genre roles and I'm loving it. And I still can't believe this mf Skarsgård was on an episode of Atlanta last year. About as out of nowhere as the Liam Neeson appearance, lol.

Just got back. I really enjoyed this ride.
I give it 4/5 urns

Brandon taking the baton from Pops with the body horror but seems to have maybe even better chops as a director :whoo:

How Mia Goth fine as hell with no eyebrows brehs?

That final scene with them all in the bus talking about what they're doing when they go home felt like a horror version of the last scene in The Graduate for some reason

@RGM
patients of a Saint
or inmate zero

it like a cross between Shutter island from the inmates point of view, Contagion and Day of the dead
well plotted
well acted
decent amount of gore
doesn't really drag
and that ending:banderas:

I have tickets for this evening too. I liked what Brandon Cronenberg did with Possessor and Mia Goth is the new Scream Queen right now so I'm optimistic.

I'm not sure if I'm going to go see Fear this weekend though.
I want to support Black Horror but Deon Taylor's list of movies that he's directed are things I either outright didn't like (Traffik) or fall into the category of unintentionally funny (Fatale; The Intruder).

I was a fan of the first season of Teen Wolf but then the show started moving into other types of monsters and got kind of ridiculous.
I'll still check this out just for Buffy being in it though.

anybody catch this one?
I missed it

I know there a subset of us that watch the Shark attack movies , no matter how bad they are
I was just wondering how bad it was

I love shark movies and tend to watch any new shark movie that comes to my attention but I really wish that people who do not have the budget to get the shark effects right would stop making these damn movies.
I am so sick of these flicks with janky looking CGI sharks mixed with nature program stock footage.
