Yeah, I thought about how that would be a good remix of the "Pam's head" trope in the franchise.
You'd think someone would've come to Victor Miller with this idea already since it would give him the thing he seems to most want: Jason always being dead.

I really like it as an opportunity to do a bunch of clever mirroring that's not too on the nose. That's a pitch worth swinging his way for sure.

I never knew that was a thing with the F13th franchise. I think AHS borrowed that idea for thier 80s season.

Edit: they might have said that in the one documentary but that shyt was like 7 hrs. I only ever watched it once and don't remember everything they said.

I am just to the point , I just want some new damn F13.
its been since '09
shyts infuriating
If the TV show is half as entertaining as Chucky, it'll be a good show

as for the movie
let me throw on my Fanboy Purist Cape :russ:

And '09 was really good. It's one of my favorites from that eras remakes of classics. Agreed on the Chucky show too, they really did a good job with it and you can tell there's love for the movies behind it (I think that's a result of so many vets from the Chucky movies being involved).

As for the killer having to be Jason. I dodged the Ghostface with a gun debate and I avoiding this one too

I came away from the 2009 Friday the 13th wishing they had done a remake of the first movie with Nana Visitor as Pamela Voorhees just based off the opening credits scene so I am cool with not having Jason as the killer.
I even was cool with Roy Burns being the killer in New Beginning (even though his reasons were kinda trash).

I have a new idea for this thread:

In keeping with the concept of changing horror movie premises to fit new “modernization” standards for the current day consumers.

1. There’s a new Final Destination movie coming in 2023; and this time Death does not have a design; said design includes a Glock with a switch

2. The Ring 4 will actually be a Ring security system. If Samara appears in the doorbell camera - the victim now has 3 days to live and for whatever random reason- the Ring executions only happen in Staten Island.

— to be continued, all participants feel free to add to this thread until March 10, 2023.

Ring 4 happening on Ring doorbell cams is actually great lmao. I have one pointed into my backyard and I can imagine getting an alert in the middle of the night and seeing samara climbing out of my pool.

nothing special, but if you want to see people mauled by a werewolf for 80 minutes
its a decent time waster

I watched Beast Within last night and it was a bit of a clunker but the worst thing about it was the end credits with the terrible pencil drawings of the cast.

So the Rig is a joint with clear Lovecraftian inspiration running through the trailer.

I'm three episodes in and it's definitely got a cosmic horror vibe. But when I say slow burn, I've just past halfway and the it's still all build-up. A lot of weird ish has happen, there have been deaths and injuries, and there's a big mystery unraveling with an "the old Gods are behind this" feeling to it. But it feels soooo slow.

This is the second Amazon Prime series to catch me like this. It has just enough intrigue to make me need answers. But the actual viewing experience feels slow, I'm not particularly connected to any characters, and the small bits of action are morsels like the first dish from the movie the Menu.

There's still time for a real payoff though. The midway point implied interesting answers and curious threads. So, there's just enough hope to keep me watching. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but Cosmic Horror fans that really need a fix so far.
