So I watched Margaux, the movie about the killer smart house.

It would be a pretty forgettable junk food horror movie if not for one scene that I will remember until the end of time.

Breh,
Admittedly....
i have watched some fukked up, forgettable fringe horror in my time, but

We could've basically gotten the point about the type of dude Long's character was in the 5 minute scene of him talking to his agent as he was getting into his rent-a-car. We really didn't need the deep dive into his character.
And I agree about "Mama" and her nocturnal activities. When the homeless bruh mentioned she roamed the neighborhood at night I was hoping we'd get a scene or two of what she did while out and about.
I had the same feeling about Long's character intro. Except, I'd cut out the rental car and drive altogether and let his apology phone call to the actress be his entire introduction. But either way, we'd trim his intro by a LOT and leave more space to get into the crazy stuff.

They really did leave a lot of opportunities to expand. The night roaming, the massive collection of VHS tapes, and that creepy babyroom all coulda been more. Maybe there's room for a prequel or something?

fukk the water. Jaws is up there. The jump scare in exorcist 3 is elite
No issue from me. It's widely believed that Jaws caused beach attendance to go down for a few years after its release. Families were like, "Nah, we're going to the Grand Canyon/Yellow Stone National Park instead, kids. :whoa:"

Go to the beach and get attacked by a shark or go to a National Park and end up lost, abducted or missing . Yeah.., no.

RETROSPECTIVE

15 YEARS AGO, ROB ZOMBIE’S BEST SLASHER MOVIE DID THE IMPOSSIBLE

This 2007 horror remake endures while others have been justifiably forgotten.

REMAKING A CLASSIC MOVIE almost never works. Just ask any of the filmmakers who directed new versions of iconic slashers during the remake boom of the late ’00s and early ’10s, when updates of movies like Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre hit theaters. None of those movies came close to the enduring acclaim or popularity of their source material, nor did they establish any of their directors as important voices in horror.

:wow:

A prequel would be cool showing how dude started his little hobby and how over the years as his mutant offspring grew and began to take over just as the neighborhood was deteriorating.

Plus, Yellowstone is literally a giant powder keg ready to blow.

EDIT - The YTer who made his video fudged their facts a bit... Yellowstone is not considered a dormant volcano; it's considered an active one.
