:mjlol: I swear, I'm rooting for the Munsters to surprise. I loved that ish as a kid. But I won't lie. The news is not looking good.
Nah it has nothing to do with The Munsters movie- it’s Netflix as a brand right now is not exactly known for their original quality content stateside. That’s why everyone was surprised when RZ decided to use Netflix for streaming - he’s always had these cookie cutter studios trying to sideline his creative content. If it was up to the masses and executives, Halloween 2007 would never have been made . They ended up outperforming expectations as did Devil’s Rejects.

The same reason why alot of new release movies aren’t using Netflix as their go-to anymore.

The story behind Pearl getting greenlit is actually kinda dope. They were filming X in New Zealand because that was the one of the few places open at that point in the pandemic, and upon arrival everyone had to spend 2 weeks in quarantine.

So Ti West took the downtime and wrote the Pearl script with Mia Goth's input. Their plan was to write a film that could be shot at the same location and with the same cast and crew, as long as everyone was willing to stay longer (and with everywhere else shutdown, it probably was an easy sell to the cast and crew). So he wrote a cheap film that they could shoot right behind X, and A24 greenlit the script before the first film was even shot.

I'm not sure if the sequel fits into this set-up as well. But I thought that was a dope way to get two films for the price of one at a time when almost everyone else was pausing production.

Tusk + Twin Peaks on edibles is...yikes. Just add Mullholland Drive and the cypher's complete :mjlol:.
That makes sense then, covid worked out for him and Mia.

Was about to say the film was not on that type of level to get so many projects.

fukk it I guess I'll watch anyways.

I watched From Hell. Johnny Depp was out there drinking and getting high-- couldn't tell if he was acting or if it was legit :pachaha:

No Heather Graham nudy scenes :camby:

A decent film about Jack the ripper.

And then I watched Village of the Damned (1960). I really enjoyed this old-school film. No filler on time, and it really got to the point.
I thought the casting was David was outstanding. It's not easy to find a kid for that role but they nailed it.

At first, I thought about the car scene that started having the kids killing everyone-- I originally blamed them for starting all that shyt, but after thinking about it I'm assuming they read the dude's mind and he had the intent of running that girl over. I guess he gets what he deserves.

But from the perspective of a human, these kids having these powers and no emotion :camby: yeah I would be like these kids need to go

great film
