I hate Mother; thought it was a pretentious indulgent mess of a film by a director who's ego needed to be reigned in by the studio.
Most memorable thing about the movie is that in the official Mother movie thread on here some weirdo kept getting big mad because I dared to not like and was arguing that the only reason anyone wouldn't like the movie is because they didn't understand it like this piece of shyt was deeper than a teaspoon of water.
Overly serious snobby film nerds are the worst.

Night of the Demons is awesome. It is everything I love about 80s horror. The sequel was entertaining but not as much fun as the original.
There was a 2009 remake too with Shannon Elizabeth as Angela. It was OK but also not as much fun as the OF movie.

I have always considered Nightbreed to be a movie filled with amazing concepts/visuals but no real cohesive story to grab audiences. If the concept were to be in the hands of a better director/writer I think a horror classic could come out of it.
Even though I liked Mother.. yeah I can agree with this 100%

Night of the Demons is awesome. Only movie I own a blu ray of :wow:

I’m convinced that 90s-00s Children’s shows were covert horror shows. This was an actual episode:

The Tragic Magic School bus

:mjlol:
Look at this ish ^^
:picard:
they carried Arnold’s frozen corpse on to the bus 😱

What was up with the horror themed abduction/child endangerment school buses 😳

Side note: The movie “UNHUMAN” brought me here

I'm on the fence. It looks good, but I'm worried about how she'll look in motion because there's something off about it. That said, I think the Hell Raiser franchise always kinda got misconstrued where Pinhead was a figurehead but the real scary stuff was happening elsewhere in the plot. At least for the good ones. He's the ominous threat, but it's what the box does to normal people that's scariest.

Movies I recently viewed:

As Above, So Below (2014): I realize I'm not that big on the found footage genre in horror unless the films are Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity. Hard to follow the movie in the dark, and the angles switch too much. I get they're giving us the characters' perspectives, but that shyt can be a headache. I swear I know about ten girls that look like the main protagonist. LOL. Okay scary movie, but I'll never watch it again.

Night of Demons 2 (1994): what are the odds that the original film's anniversary is today? I wrote my opinion about the original one stating that it was okay but the film wouldn't have an attraction to those who aren't avid horror fans. I can say I like this better than the first film in the series. I like how most of the film isn't located at the house but at the private school. I feel like they got really creative, even though how Angela got to the school is sort of cheesy and lame. The nun in this movie was badass! I also like the connection with Mouse being Angela's sister. The cast is very attractive, the brunette my goodness, man that's top beauty for the 90s. I thought the characters were interesting, some of the moments were funny, and I give them credit for trying. Yeah this is my favorite from the series.

Night of Demons 3 (1997): This was so bad that it was good LOL. A lot of creative decisions didn't make sense. Bad Boy Vince was on the edge and crazy with no real motive. The dude stole the shotgun from the gas station clerk and went nuts lmao. And then everyone in that van had beef with each other for no reason lol. What were they even doing again, where were they looking for a place to party? Reggie getting shot and being taken to an abandoned house where there is no urgency to give him medical attention is funny as fukk LMAO. The dude was screaming for his life while Vince is smashing that chick with no care in the world lol.

The ending was SUPER DUMB. One of the worst endings I've seen in a scary movie. Angela and all those demons could have easily taken the last three lives at that moment, but she's like wait I want this girl's soul you other guys can go, which proceeds to be the setup for her L. Angela chasing the main characters to the end of the gate, where the demons can't pass, and they easily drag her out like it was nothing LMAO. You would think the villain would have more smarts than that.

The chaotic aspect of this made it worth watching though. I just realized with this third film that the villains in scary movies always come back with no logical reason. How does Angela die in the second one but is back with no logical reason? We accept that a lot in our sequels huh?

Another great choice in the cast selections. The film had the 90s, nostalgic, VHS vibe to it that I appreciated about it. shyt was so dumb that it was good but at the end of the day, it's not a good film at all.

I also found it strange that the clerk realizing that Reggie is underaged had a line that caught my attention: "Yeah, and I'm the queen of England."

With NoD anniversary and the queen's death yesterday, I thought all the coincidences were wild.

As Above, So Below was a good horror film imo.

That, and "Grave Encounters".

Some folks didn't like "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin" but I thought it was good. Then again I was starving for an okay horror film around the time I watched it.
