That Shudder list got me very hype because it included an Anime classic that's supposed to be one of the all-time greats in the genre. I've never seen it, but I've heard comparisons to Black Swan and hype that it's legitimately creepy.

Almost turned it off at the Lifetime scene where Peacemaker's dad is like "look at this here porn son!!! LOOK AT IT!!!" but I let it ride off strength of that extra .5 of Gun Totin Loomis...and I'm glad I did. It improved exponentially after that.

Idk why seeing this typed out gets me every time

Cot fukkin DAMN. It pains me. Was hoping Black Mountain Side would grab me, but it just never did. Which sucks because the atmosphere was actually on point and it nails down that Lovecraftian sense of hopelessness. It sucked me into its world with plot points that didn’t seem to go anywhere. Would’ve enjoyed it more had

kept the Deer God silent, or at least have it speak in a language foreign to the characters and manipulate them that way. shyt made me feel like I was watching Moon Knight, and not in the good way.

I see it’s a beloved film everywhere I go, and I’m happy other folks enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll give it another watch sometime and see if I warm up to it more.

I wasn't a big fan of Black Mountain Side either with my biggest issue being that I didn't give a damn about any of the characters so I really didn't care about what was happening to them. At one point I was just wishing they would all murder each other/kill themselves just so the movie would hurry up and end.

The hotline sounds like it will be a disaster, but I hope it works out.

They have done the hotline a couple times before and it hasn't ever had any major problems with it.

Bodies Bodies Bodies was a really fun time. It was cool watching all the pokes at “Zillenial” culture, being one myself. I am curious to see if the older crowd will enjoy this one though, as I think most of the dialogue will slip over their heads.

Biggest highlight to me was the way it constantly tip-toed that line between seriousness and absurdity. Lot of times I found myself still on edge, even when the characters were cracking jokes or being unintentionally hilarious. Sennott’s character stole the show.

Can definitely see folks coming back to this one years from now as a time capsule like how some might watch Scream.

I liked Bodies Bodies Bodies well enough but my enjoyment of the film diminished early on when I realized what the twist was going to be.

I went into it hoping it would be that "Scream for Gen Z" movie with an actual slasher ripping through these kids but when David was the first victim I immediately assumed he accidentally slit his own throat with that sword he left by the pool and then figured all the other houseguests would end up killing one another thinking there was a murderer in the house.

But Rachel Sennot was the acting highlight of the movie definitely.

I really wanted someone to explain how becoming a vampire makes you a Parkour karate master.
And it was like they cut out 99% of the Asian lady neighbor subplot because aside from Jamie Foxx helping her carry a box to her apartment they had no interaction with one another yet the movie made it seem like they were homies.

Who Invited Them?
Adam and Margo’s housewarming party goes well enough… except there's this one mysterious couple (Tom and Sasha) lingering after the other guests have left. The cool couple reveals themselves to be their wealthy neighbors but as one nightcap leads to another, Adam and Margo start to suspect their new friends are actually duplicitous strangers with a dark secret.

I expect nothing from Netflix and they seem to hit my expectations 99.9% of the time when it’s comes to their American film collection - Netflix is nothing but a content dump at this point. Blockbuster 2.0 - Remixed and Remastered. I put it on in the background on the kitchen tv while I’m cooking. And Snoop plays basically the same character in every role (with the exception of Baby Boy).

Saw Black Phone yesterday. Was good but did not live up to the hype. 7/10
