I was hype to see Shudder's new arrivals for the month. Not a lot that this thread hasn't seen before, but just GOOD movies. Session 9, Trick R Treat, Halloween 2 and 3, and a some Full Moon classics including the first three Puppet Master movies which I absolutely adore!
I rewatched The Funhouse on Shudder this morning while I was supposed to be working.
Not Tobe Hoopers best work but I always felt that you could see him workshopping some of the visual style he brought to Poltergeist in that movie.

Welcome back, congrats on the move! I still scan the Shudder App for interesting pieces to load in before I hit the subway thanks to reading your pieces.

There's probably a gang of movies that are missing your takes at this point. X was epic, Jello and I mighta found the holy grail of horror everyone in thread hates (The Seed on Shudder), and there's a gang of throwbacks and slept on joints that I figure you might have takes about if you've seen em (The Stylist, Broadcast Signal Intrusion, and a late 00's gem from Australia called the Loved Ones mainly).
I do plan to watch The Seed lol

That franchise is dead to me, and shall never be spoken of again. Ever..like EVERRRRRR.
@MartyMcFly I waited four years for this and only for them to drop the worst TCM of all time.
The best part about this movie was the end scene as they were driving away.

Yeah that flick didn’t work for me. A bunch of ideas thrown together, some good some not, and just meh.

Funniest part to me was homeboys fiancé never getting name checked. She was either “fiancé” or “wife to be” or “my woman” :russ:

And of course she died in one of the stupidest character moments ever.

in japan they have a special type of buddhism called shinto. they believe in putting their shrines out in nature and they require women called shrine maidens to take care of the shrines both physically and spiritually. their religious beliefs also include spirits that would live in nature and demons and ghosts. i think the demons might attack the shrine if it is not being taken care of properly.

this was the plot of an old japanese video game i used to play as a kid. she even has that zig zag paper tassle thing. you defeat and exercise demons out of other creatures

The end of Noroi is absolute insanity. I haven’t seen this level of “all hell breaks loose” right before the credits roll since Hereditary.

Also, I got a goodie of a creepy pasta

Quality horror right there.

I’ve never watched it but the cover art always stuck with me. I’m hype for that one.

It’s…something :lolbron:.

Netflix has this new drop "CHOOSE OR DIE" - yall know how I feel about Netflix original "horror/thriller" movies. But I'm at work and need background noise so I'll check this out.

Rapid pace, cool concept, and a ton of gore. It’s a hell of a ride. It had some of that “almost corny, almost campy” to it, but I can vibe with that since it also had super dark moments. I like these fast-paced, shorter run horrors for quick, twisted fun.

It's surprisingly interesting for a Netflix original offering. considering that piece of shyt netlfix movie known as Texas Chainsaw Massacre reprisal fail. I'm 45 mins into it.
and the surprise Robert Englund "freddie Krueger" cameo appearance. Reviving that 80s vibe.
the mother cutting her son's tongue, the glass chewing and the rat chasing her mom "game" :picard:

They get a little campy trying to accelerate things from there. The rewind/fast forward bit made chuckle and the finale was campy too but in a way I thought was foul and fun at the same time.

I watched Bram Stroker's Dracula for the 1st time. Gary Oldman was great but Keanu Reeves almost ruined the movie:martin: Anthony Hopkins was good too. That was the most energetic I've ever seen him in a movie.

That looks pretty mediocre.
It has above a 4.0 Rating on IMDb, I’m
Interested enough to keep watching past my normal 20 minute attention span and it’s starting off much better than that dumbass Texas Chainsaw dub - my criteria is not particularly high these days with this horror movie slump we’ve been in- I’ll take what I can get
:snooze:
and it’s filler material until I can start watching X later tonight. The concept is okay - like a Truth or Dare remix, I guess.
