I prolly shoulda searched this thread for The Seed before I just threw it on since it's one of the latest from Shudder. i just like alien movies. But fam...wtf did I just watch. I'll describe it so that if you actually choose to suffer through it, that's on you...

It starts off like it's gonna mock social media culture...there's a meteor shower...but one of the meteors had a creature that looks like a shaved fraggle rock puppet.

Shave his head, remove the molly pupils, dip him in oil so he's dripping oil...

Anyway, they just leave that thing there and go back to partying. One of them decides to bring Gobo inside and feed it. Here comes real spoilers

Long story short, Gobo starts smashing two out of three with his weird alien telepathy (what happens doesn't look like sex, doesn't look sexy, and doesn't make any sense but it's obvious what's going on at the same time). They become rapid pregnant, start leaking oil, and turn crazy. So the third friend kills the alien and one of her crazed homies. She chases down the next one, but a dude happens to driving by (the first person we've seen in hella long btw). He spots them AND happens to be a sniper. So just as the sane friend is about to get the final body...boom she's sniped.

But she heals super fast because Gobo had tried to alien smash her too. She just came to her senses in time to avoid stepping into this weird puddle where he'd get her pregnant. Anyway, the almost alien sex means she has healing powers. So she gets up and finds the sniper dead and her friend being all crazy. So she shoots the rabid homie and starts to walk toward town. A bunch of meteors fly overhead...Fraggle Rocks dropping everywhere, hide your ladies. These things got game!

I don't usually dislike movies this much. But woof...it had a sense of humor and was different. That's my compliments. But idk wtf that is and I'm mad that Shudder put this as a featured new drop.

Final Destination was inspired by Flight 180 from the XFiles

The Final Destination Franchise Began as an X-Files Episode
The creator of the Final Destination franchise originally wrote the film as an X-Files episode before producers decided to turn the idea into a movie.

Released in 2000, Final Destination is a horror film about a group of people who narrowly avoid death after one of them has a premonition of their plane crashing, but fate cannot be avoided so easily, and Death comes for those who were meant to die in the crash. The film was a success and was followed by several sequels; however, the original concept behind Final Destination was not conceived as a feature film; it was written to be an episode of The X-Files.

Rob Zombie causing controversy once again. Bought to break the horrorosphere again.

The news drops that RZ is directing the Munsters:
Crowd: “Noooo!! Rob is going to make the movie too gory and vile, it’s going to be too much violence!! Why is RZ doing a Munster’s reboot- you know how his movies are :damn:!!”

People hearing that the movie is Rated PG:

“This ain’t it - PG is for kids, why is Rob giving The Munsters movie this weak Disney treatment for :beli:, PG Ratings and Rob Zombie movies don’t go together. This is not what I was expecting”

this is all I’m seeing all over the internet - at least wait until the movie drops and actually see the finished product before the complaints start rolling in.
:what::deadmanny:

The haters need another reason to hate him.

My feelings on Zombie as a director are well known in this thread but I really don't get the people having issues with The Munsters being rated PG...I mean it's The Munsters!
Who was looking for a hard R movie about Herman, Lilly, Eddie and Grandpa?

I be in here trying to warn y'all. :manny:

I watched this new movie that popped up on Shudder called The Seed...:snoop:

Basically an alien that looks like Godzooky uses its tentacles and flaps to knock up a couple social media influencers while they are on a girls trip.
It was absolute trash.

I’ve been taking your warnings more seriously since the Texas Chainsaw Massacre fail— before I was like Jello is being Hard on Horror movies but you’ve been on point with the hits and misses, I must admit.
:francis:….
Do you agree or disagree that we won’t see any real thorough content until June? “Fresh”delivered and I’m looking forward to “X”- but other than that I haven’t been moved by much, I find myself pulling out my early 2000s backlog to have something to watch. “CAVE” with Morris Chestnut, rewatching these movies as an adult - they really do hold up. Movie is better than when I first watched it, the scenes give me claustrophobia

I am sometimes harsh but fair with my reviews of horror.
And I'm looking forward to X plus I might check out Umma this weekend too.

I was actually looking forward to the early part of 2022 but then a bunch of movies got their release dates moved from Jan-Feb to June and beyond. I think the one that really got me most annoyed was when Black Phone got moved from January to June.

But June to the end of the year looks like we will be feasting with horror movies at the movie theater and until then I will just dive into the straight to streaming offerings.

Haven't seen Cave in ages, might give it a re-watch to see what I actually remember about it.

@RGM
first hour drags like a lifetime movie with nudity
last 30 minutes is actually suspenseful & has some decent kill effects
