Another stupid ass horror movie I just watched on Hulu




Seeking shelter from a storm, a family find themselves trapped for days with no sign of rescue and untold evils lurking just beyond the walls in this wildly fun house-of-horrors thrill ride.

I didn't hate We Need To Do Something but there was a better movie to be made here is they could've decided on a tone and stuck with. Plus the ending was not giving nearly what the movie thought it was.

Dr. Sleep's the worst for me. I finally watched that first episode of From and I hate to be that guy but that family did everything wrong. Didn't nail the windows shut, pops was drunk napping when he needed to be home, the mom stood in the doorway instead of running to the window right away, and the little girl's like "you don't look like grandma...whatevs, I'll let you in stranger"...Darwin Awards level failure.

The show got me hooked though, I'm excited to see wtf the deal is with all of it. I assume the Lost creators won't do a "they're all dead" plot...

From is created by the same people who created Lost??

I stopped watching Lost after the first 2 seasons bc it started getting redundant to me, “From” Episode 4 was a filler ep-didn’t add much to the storyline except for making me hate that teenage girl even more. Also frustrating is watching the parents leave their little boy alone by himself the whole damn episode. Like everywhere they went - left him alone an uncomfortable amount of time
There’s a unknown entity in a town that you mysteriously are trapped in, surroundings they have no idea about but they let him sit in a diner alone, walk around, sit alone in areas with strangers by himself -then act all mad and shocked when he gets approached.

From has some of the people who produced Lost behind it but it was created by John Griffin who's most notable credit before From was writing for the Jordan Peele Twilight Zone reboot.
Episode 4 was definitely a "catch your breath" episode though but I did like the backstory we got for Victor and they gave us more on that creepy Boy in White and showed how the waitress is being influenced to do the bidding of the some evil entity.

Anything that Regina Hall is in merits a watch from me- highly underrated actress who is not in enough movies; I like her bc she actually represents for me rather than the usual Hollywood go-tos such as Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and she’s an NYU alum -honorary NYer.

movie looks like it might have the right blend of social commentary and horror without overburdening the tone of the film.
